Sign the Birdman!

Post#1 » by PikeWorm » Sat Feb 2, 2013 2:31 pm

After a few games, with his initial scrub minutes turning into Joel's minutes....i really love this guy.

1) Birdman under the basket = free dunks.

2) Birdman's confidence is obvious. He attacks rather than reacts. Sure he is sometimes out of position, but his aggression is so great to see.

3) Tall with Gumby arms. It really is great to see shots actually getting redirected without Birdman having to be right up on the shooter. Joel has a great block too, but this is clearly a CA+

4)Run Run Run, Diiiive! His energy really reminds me of Rodman. I don't think he is as evil, but he has zero concern for his body.

5)You cannot deny he is actually playing and contributing early already. If CA has room to improve, I'm going to be really impressed. On a couple 10-day contracts, his fitting into the rotation is pretty impressive.

6) Value. Where else can you find this kind of big man at close to this price??

7) Most importantly, this guy is fun to watch. Half of the fun is trying to figure out wtf is drawn all over his body.

I know with the trading deadline coming up, the Heat like to keep options open, but I like having seen something that works already. This guy is not the end all to issues that our team has, but I don't think you can question there is clear value in CA. So, Miami Heat fans.... what say you?

I'm for a signing ;)

It would be sweet if they could sign him on a two year deal or something, but I doubt he would take the minimum for more than the rest of this year.

What's his contract situation like, in terms of his previous contract with the Nuggets, I know he got amnestied so how much longer is he getting paid by them? Like, how long did he have left on his contract when he was amnestied, because maybe he is satisfied with that money and will sign for the minimum beyond this year?

outplayed bosh last night.

The one good point to come out of the game.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
