I Want to end their playoff hopes for good. Beat them so bad they blow it up and trade Dwight.

Remember when this was called a potential Finals preview?
Looks like it's just the defending champs defending home turf against a lottery team this time.

this matchup is always fun to watch...

vs

but honestly, this time around i'm not hyped at all about playing the lakers. i remember this use to be the game i always highlighted on my nba calender but this time around i'm just done with the lakers for the rest of the season. after watching them get destroyed by the celtics a few days ago i just saw a team that is so focused on individual accolades instead of playing like a team. that team is full of egos and i don't like dwight howard at all but i'm starting to feel bad for him. he's not healthy what so ever and he's playing because of kobe's big ass mouth. it's really sad to see a 27 year old player limping around. he's too young & valuable to be going all out in the regular season. if the lakers would have took care of business earlier in the season then they wouldn't be in this predicament right now smh. there is no doubt in my mind that the heat will win this game. that win over the clippers yesterday was our best win of the season by far and i always felt we needed that one statement game against a playoff contender that can get us going on a good winning streak...

KOBE ON LEBRON: Included in ESPN's interview with Kobe Bryant was an interesting comment from the Los Angeles Lakers guard on LeBron James' refusal to get involved in trash talk. "I say everything to LeBron. He says nothing back. He just laughs," Bryant said, with the teams to meet Sunday at AmericanAirlines Arena. "There's no banter back and forth. I guess it's a generational thing. When I first came into the league, the trash talk was downright cutthroat."

I think Kobe's trash talk is hilarious because he always ends up with his foot in his mouth... only to make slick comments again before their next matchup...lol but that's Kobe
“Um, I don’t know if I want to comment on the Lakers’ saga again,” James said. “The last time I commented, Kobe said, do I want a cookie? So I’m going to leave it alone. Leave it alone. I like cookies, by the way.”
And, as he walked away, he added:
“Chocolate chip.”
Hahahaha

If this is true I am really proud of Bron.
He let's his game do the talking and seems to approach the game with a sense of focus and maturity. He knows how to have fun too but maybe he leaves the talking with his team mates on the bench or after the game. Good on him.
As great as Kobe has been in his career and I hate to admit that, I think Bron is on a whole nother level and Kobe knows it. Kobe knows he and the lakers are past it now and it's Brons time for domination.
This is a scare game if Heat don't take it serious as Lakers are desperate. If Heat play focused they should hammer LA.
Bring it on!!

Kinda interesting reading the first few postings, it's all fair game though. But even if the Lakers lose this game it isn't going to end their playoff drive. Mathematically we're still very much in the picture, only 3 1/2 behind Houston and 4 1/2 behind the Jazz.
One poster said we're a lottery team, maybe in the significance of standings but in reality it's moot since we won't have anything to do with the pick by any means. Phoenix or Cleveland is going to enjoy the pick so that really doesn't bother me at all.
As far as the game, the Heat looked very explosive against the Clippers. But the Clippers problem is that they tried to play the same as the Heat. With the Lakers, we're going to try to slow it to our pace. As long as we move the ball and rebound ( we're 3rd overall in the NBA ) along with defending we should be okay.
We can't turn it over too much, the Heat lives off that stuff. Lebron is going to get his, we know that but we have to minimize the rest. Can't let Ray Allen hurt us like he did late in the first game. Overall should be a good game, but win or lose this won't be the end for the Lakers.

I wonder if Kobe talks trash to D-Wade. I doubt that Wade would just laugh at whatever Kobe dishes out in the court lol

Most people in here don't have a vested interest in whether the Lakers make it to the playoffs or not (as if that's some sort of accomplishment)... three years back when the Big 3 came together the casual observer wanted to see the new "IT" team go down, so that's just how it is with you guys except to an obviously lesser degree. No, it won't be the end for the Lakers if Miami wins tomorrow but any reasonable thinking man knows the end for the Lakers will definitely come (if not in the regular season) in the first round, most likely against OKC.

Yeah, the broadcast would be so much enjoyable if it were Breen/JVG.
I hope the role players can keep it going and I expect good stuff from the marquee names because it's still the Lakers. Hopefully, CB and Ray are back.

@dreamchaser....Fully aware we're behind Portland, but I also feel we'll catch them too seeing as we still have 2 more games with them. May not beat them in Portland because we struggle up there and they struggle down here in LA. But they'll lose more game not even playing us, plus their MO has been the same for about the last 3 seasons.....fading late.
@MartyCONLONNN.....Fair points, as crazy as it sounds though I don't fear the Thunder. We're built to challenge them if we control the pace. Myself personally I don't get the "hate the successful team"...mantra. Good organizations try to compete at all cost. Didn't bother me one bit when the Heat built their team, my team is in the west and it's only a factor if the teams meet in the Finals. Those haters you guys have to deal with are the guys of teams that have to deal with the Heat on a yearly basis. Those Knick, Celtic and Net fans know who they are.......those are the haters.
