Need Some Help

Post#1 » by + Kyle + » Sat Feb 9, 2013 4:06 pm

Ok so I'm going to the Heat/Cavaliers game in Cleveland on March 20th and I was wondering if any Heat players usually sign autographs before the game? I went to a Cavs game in 07 to see LeBron (he's my favorite player, I live in NY) and I got Shannon Browns autograph before the game. So I was going to go over to the visitors side before the game and try to get some Heat autographs on my championship hat. What are the odds of getting one? Not sure if anyone on the Heat actually sign. Thanks guys.

I don't know what goes on in road games but at home I only ever see them come out for shoot around then the game starts. Very rarely see them interacting with fans other than maybe when they run through the tunnel heading to the locker room slapping hands and such.

I went to the Dallas-Miami game on December 20 and I actually got to meet a few players. I am not sure how it works in cleveland but in dallas you're allowed to go to the section near the entrance/exit tunnels of both teams about 2 hrs prior to the game. You then have to leave about an hr before tipoff and proceed to your seats. I was told higher profile players like lebron and wade prefer to do shootaround in a separate gym or do their shootaround super early so they can avoid hostile fans that might try to rile them up before gametime. So they dont usually come out much in cities like boston, dallas, cleveland, etc.

Before the game, I was able to meet Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, and Joel Anthony while they were just shooting around for kicks. I actually met a lot more of the Dallas players like Dahntay Jones, Bernard James, Darren Collison, OJ Mayo, and Chris Kaman.

Also, after games there is a vip section reserved for friends and family of both the teams. I was able to convince someone to let me use their vip pass after they were done using it. It doesnt have any identification on it. All it has is the last name of the player who gave you the pass and the date its for. I was then able to meet/talk to and get autographs from Chris Bosh, Norris Cole, Dexter Pittman, James Jones, and Ray Allen.

Honestly, if you're just trying to meet the players you could get away with having the cheapest seats possible and just get to the game super early and stay a bit late. Id imagine the Cleveland-Miami game has tons of security so you cant do too much sneaking around. Good luck though! I hope you get to meet the players you want.
