Out for the game...could it be a good thing of more Joel and less Haslem if he is out a while?

It will just be like old times. Joel is fine, it's just when he plays 30+ minutes is when it's annoying. Joel is a "spurt" player to me... a player you play for a few minutes every now and again. When he's over played, that's when it's bad. Birdman is on the roster now so, it might not be as much Joel as we think. But Joel and Bosh together is pretty good. I mean when we needed a spark, it was Joel off the bench along with Mario, but Joel's presence would be felt.

Though I just realized Joel will probably start now lol, I don't like Joel starting but it's not permanent...

Hopefully, it's nothing more than the contusion that was initially reported. I doubt he plays in OKC, but with the ASG break coming, it shouldn't be that bad in terms of missed GT. Split those minutes between Joel and Bird.

I don't think he's necessary vs OKC. Perkins is a D-League scrub and will allow Bosh to play the passing lanes more on defense and hopefully he'll be aggressive on offense as well. If Chalmers and Wade can suppress Westbrook who has been playing well as of late, Miami should be alright.

Yup, good sigh.

But if you think that UD going down "could be a good thing" because we'll give more minutes to Joel, you're basically saying Spo is an idiot that can't recoginze what we need on the floor when everyone is healthy.

To be Honest, Joel had a big impact on defense last night when he came in. You could tell right away he was bothering Aldridge which was killing us before he came in.

UD has been a bit more decent lately, hopefully he comes back in a week.

Hopefully he's not out for long. Haslem has been playing his best basketball in many months lately and it even seemed like his jumper was coming to life somewhat. Statistically Battier starting instead of Haslem isn't that big of a drop-off for the starting unit but what might be a negative side-effect is that Battier has been the only one that has consistently looked good coming off the bench. Going with Anthony would surprise me but is a solution that has worked before. Get well UD!

I would much rather see Joel start but I'm expecting Battier to.

TBH not that bothered by him being gone. Gives some other guys a chance to get more minutes and see what they can do with more load.
