Stop for a moment and realize...
We may never see someone playing in a Heat uniform like Lebron has been playing this season. I've always felt that Lebron was on lease and I'm mentally prepared for him opting out and moving on after proving what he needed to prove here. In fact, it pains me to say that I would respect and cheer Lebron regardless of what he decides to do. The man is living up to every single cent of the contract he signed here, both on and off the court.
This is Marino during the 84 season when he annihilated NFL records. Jordan during his prime years winning 70+ games.
Take it all in. One day you will remember these years of peak Lebron playing in a Heat uniform and you will feel just like people from Chicago that watched Jordan mature from a superstar to the greatest of all time.
This team is only going to feed off Lebron and his greatness. I already see Wade finally understanding his role and playing with energy - Not only for the team, but for Lebron. I see our role players accepting Spo's on again, off again rotations. I see a team rallying around their leader who is leading by example with intensity on both sides of the court that is simply super-human and unmatched in the NBA right now.
We are witnessing true greatness. Savor it. You never know when it may be taken away from us or how long it will last.

Hmm...Is that the general consensus around here, that he's going to leave?I always figured he would finish out the rest of his career in Miami. Maybe I'm lost?

I felt that way, when we first signed LeBron. Now I think he may create the second chapter of his life here.
Either way, I would not hate him for leaving. I'm truly thankful for being allowed to see the dude every day.

No kidding. Untill now most heat fans just thought LBJ was crap and took him for granted, luckily this ballboy came out of nowhere to open our eyes. from now on we should really try to enjoy his play.

i actually felt the same way too at first... now that he won a championship down here and he seems to love the south beach life (from what i seen on instagram) i feel like he's going to retire in a heat jersey... i remember all those rumors of him going back to cleveland but after what dan gilbert said about him i just don't see him going back there, i mean everybody loves their hometown and it's hard to keep lebron away from akron ohio but at the same time i heard cleveland & akron are way different... similar to how manhattan is different from brooklyn...
if he leaves i won't hate him at all, the stuff he's done for this franchise should never be disrespected... it's a true blessing to watch lebron grow as a player on this franchise, he's doing some legendary stuff on this team and i can't forget about bosh if he decides to leave in 2016... if both of them decides to leave i would still thank both of them for what they done here...

Re: Stop for a moment and realize...
When LeBron first came here I thought he was a bit overrated, and that he was a rental for 5 years. But I do feel like he would finish his career in Miami. Though I do wonder what would happen if Wade were to retire, if he's stay and just go back to Cleveland. But that just makes no sense to me. Why would he go to a place where he's not wanted?
And then when he's finishing his career, who knows if he'd hop around teams that are the best fit to win so he can keep getting rings at an older age like we've seen may vets do.
But meh... I am just taking it all in. I'll think about all this stuff when Wade retires or when his contract is up.

I didnt think Lebron would stay in Miami, dont care if he does or decides to go back to Cleveland. As long as he honors his contract and plays his best while he is here them im happy. Its been nothing but a pleasure and a privilege to have him play for the Heat. I think think he or any athelete is chained here.

It's funny you mention the Holier then thou act when your first post in the this forum is telling us how we should appreciate the guy we've been appreciating and supporting for 3 years now. thanks for the heads up. Also nice to hear you're "mentally prepared for him opting out" even though all sighs are heavily indicating he's here for many years to come. Not really sure what this thread was about, we had a thread going about his greatness just next to this one.

Re: Stop for a moment and realize...
Bron won't leave Miami...not for Cleveland, anyway. A few reasons:
1. We can offer the most money. Cleveland had the same advantage too though, and that didn't help
2. I believe in my heart that we will be coming off 3 straight championships when this becomes a possibility, and a man who values his legacy like Lebron will not pass on the chance to do something else Jordan didn't do, which is win 4 in a row.
3. There is not a better team out there that he can go to. Unless a better team emerges over the next two seasons, he'll be leaving the favorites for the championship to go to a team that would have to rebuild in order to fit the right pieces around him. We certainly didn't get everything in place in year1, so he'd be throwing away a season, as he's turning 30. There's also no guarantee that a new team he joins will be able to gel, period. Knicks and Lakers are floundering in their attempts to build champion rosters.
4. No dbag Dan Gilbert.
5. The Heat organization treats its players well. Pat asked these guys to sacrifice for a common goal, but the team tends to reward those sacrifices. No one in the organization sells out guys to the media. Any issues are kept in house. Our team is one of the most professionally run organizations in all of sports.
6. This is Miami. Who doesn't love living here?
I'm not even worried. The narrative will be hilarious, but there's no way dude leaves here unless we fail to chip both of the next two seasons. PEACE.

Re: Stop for a moment and realize...
I don't give a **** what LeBron decides to do. This guy is a once in a lifetime talent and I'll root for him wherever he goes (unless it's New York but that ain't happenin). The dude is en route to bringing us to the Finals for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW and quite possibly a repeat. Let that sink in for a second. We're all spoiled as **** how many fan bases can say they've been through the same?
But we'll cross that road when we get there... For now lets just enjoy the ride.

He helped hang up banner #2. That's all needs to be said, and if he decides to leave once his contract is up, good for him. I'd thank him and wish him well.

I don't understand why people thought he was only coming for one contract? Why would he come then?
The only way he wouldn't have stayed is if the team completely bombed.

I don't think he'll leave but I sure as heck won't boo him or burn his jersey if he does lol. Same for Wade and Bosh too. Just enjoying the show they put on all the time. Lebron makes it look so easy.

I don't know if he'll leave, but I imagine one of the big 3 might (Bosh seems most likely). Realistically I don't see us being able to afford all three if they don't take an even bigger paycut, and that's assuming we never improve the bench while our core does indeed get older. I think I'm hoping that at the end of the day they'll take cuts to keep the team together, but it's not my money and I can't knock them for wanting to get what they can on what will probably be the biggest remaining contract of their careers. Oh well, I ain't even mad. 2 finals in 2 years, maybe even 3 in 3 years?
