My Dream
Hi guys. I know most of you guys are a little older than me but I want your honest opinion and thoughts. Please keep the trolling out.
Here is my situation, I completed an undergraduate degree in Criminology (April 2012) and since then I could not get any job. I was hoping to get into the NBA. I know to get in the NBA you need to have completed/attended some college/university (obviously Kobe, LeBron and Garrnet and a handful of others are the exception).
If I lose some weight, start focusing all my time and practice in conditioning my body and practicing the moves could I make it? I could play the 4 (Power Forward) and 5 (Center) and the Heat really need a good 5. I am currently 5'11, I doubt i'll get any taller. I am an excellent team player both academically and socially. I know what it means to be on a team and I am all for sacrificing stats, fame, etc for a common goal (win rings).
What do you guys think? What are the steps in getting into the NBA. Before anyone think this is a troll, if Erik Spolestra can work from a TV guy in the back then make it as a Head Coach anything is possible right?
Anyways guys any feedback would be appreciated.
P.S: I am from Toronto

I'm not trolling. This is why I stated which city I am from. It's hard to get drafted in Canada. I tried to do some research but there was mixed answers. I was hoping someone from realgm could help me out.

Since you want to be an NBA center and currently stand 5'11, I think you should consult with a local plastic surgeon to increase your height by at least 1 foot. Once you have achieved 6'10 or more, spend some time playing street ball in Brooklyn to see if someone from the D-League is interested in helping you realize your dreams. Good luck. One day, if you work hard enough, people can compare you to Hakeem or Ewing. They'll say that guy Blackberry changed the NBA. He wen't from being an undersized 5'11 couch potato to the greatest NBA center of all time.

Umm, maybe in an Asian league (not racist, we have these in Australia - only 1 white guy per team!), or a 6' & under league.

I've never wanted to punch someone in the face so badly. Really hoping to run into him at a game one day. I won't hesitate.
