HUNTING 34
Ok so let's get serious.....
Who honestly thinks we can get 34 straight and break the record?
This is no jinx thread, just want to hear everyones honest opinions, feelings, intuition on breaking the all time streak.
If you think we are going to get it done why? If not why not? Honestly, I think we are going to break it. This team is dialed in, they don't care who they are playing, where they are balling and who they are stalling. They have this uber confidence and aura about them where they know they are going to win albeit ugly or beautifully.
I have seen no let up, no desire to take the foot off the throttle and their chemistry is at an all time high. On any given night different guys are stepping up and doing different things.
This is a REAL team we are watching and a team that plays for each other.
NOTHING IS GUNNA STOP THEM NOW

Not sure tbh, but i prefer to take it one game at a time. Real disrespectful to our opponents and to the game to think we're gonna win every game from here on out.

Games we need to reach 34 -
@ Philadelphia
@ Milwaukee
@ Toronto
@ Boston*
@ Cleveland
vs. Detroit
vs. Charlotte
@ Orlando
@ Chicago
@ New Orleans
@ San Antonio
vs. New York
@ Charlotte
vs. Philadelphia
vs. Milwaukee
Bold = 2nd game of a back-to-back
Winning @ Boston would put us 2nd all-time with 23 wins*
Like 420, I'm taking it game to game. That list right there is long. That's a ton of games to win with a couple of quality opponents, plus the potential of letdown against a bad team.
That being said, for fun I'll predict if the Heat win @ Boston they break the record.

No chance, not even close. It's not what we're about and i dont really care much for it anyway.
We have a small chance to tie the 22 streak (longest in modern NBA history) and that would be really cool, but again it's not really worth overplaying the big3. We have bigger issues in mind.

Re: HUNTING 34
I agree with 420, we've just got to take it one game at a time. We're on a back-to-back tonight against the 76ers who is a team that will desperately looking for a win against us. If we win tonight then it gets even more tougher against a Bucks team who we will most likely play in the first round & then a tough back to back against the Raptors in Toronto & our rivals the Celtics in a place we haven't won at in a while (in the regular season) and that's the TD Garden in Boston. We can win 34 games but just got to take it one game at a time and I really doubt we do and at the end of the day it really doesn't matter...

This is definitely a jinx thread and I won't be surprised if we lose to the Sixers or Bucks because of this thread
No need to be looking at 34. Regardless of the quality of opposition, it is a really difficult task. Any team can beat any team on any given day in the NBA. Let them take it one game at a time.

Don't think it is possible. I see them losing to a bad team, like bobcats. Would be fun if they did it though.

That is a road-heavy schedule, wow. Hard to imagine getting out of the next five unscathed.
Tonight is a real test of how dialed in the team is. Classics let down game after two big wins against quality opponents, on the road, with no rest (3-4am arrival). If we win this, then ill start seriously entertaining the possibility.
Assuming we get that far, that game at San Antonio is going to be a tough one. They are phenomenal at home

Re: HUNTING 34
Why do people keep constructing this false narrative about how they shouldn't try for 34 because it'll overwork our guys? Are you people watching the games? LeBron, Wade and Bosh are playing no more than they normally would, in fact Wade and Bosh are near career lows in minutes per game (Bosh is, Wade's only lower year was last season when he was playing hurt).
Its like you guys want to lose a game just so you don't have to worry about the media using the "They worked too hard on the streak and that's why they lost" narrative in case anything happens in the playoffs.
We're not even practicing hard, they said Spo gave them Monday off of practice.
This team is doing everything short of purposely throwing games or sitting players even though they don't have injuries.
That said, this is a horrible jinx thread and you should feel bad for starting it. Streak ends tonight.

This. I Don't see the Heat getting 34 wins in a row at all, I'd be happy if they won 20 straight.
That'd be a great accomplishment and if they were able to beat Boston and tie the 2nd best streak then we'd be in the record books as one of the dominant teams ever, but that's only if we win the title as well!
Look how everyone was talking about Mavs winning 67 wins and how dominant the were just to be destroyed by the Warriors in the playoffs.
Winning 20 straight in the regular season then winning the title in dominating fashion is all I care about.

Re: HUNTING 34
Again, you don't have to be against winning a championship by rooting for 34 straight. 5 of the top 8 win streak teams of all time won a championship that same season, including the 33 win Lakers team.
I guess if you say you'd like to see 34, it makes you anti-championship?
I want these guys to strive for greatness, and be as awesome as they can be. If we lose tonight, I'm not gonna cry about it, but I see no reason to act like I'm on the team and addressing the media and have to temper my expectations. I'm a fan, I want to see them break record and be awesome. Go get 34.
That's just cherrypicking the results, anyone can do that. Look at the 10-11 Heat that paced themselves and took games off and how that season ended for them. Look at the 96 Bulls and how they went balls to the wall and won 72 games, how'd that go... or hell, the 97 Bulls even who won 69 games.
Slacking and losing more games in the regular season doesn't improve your chances of winning a title.

Idk. If I were the players, I'd care about playing well enough to win 34. Theyre already over half way there, who knows when another 19 game win streak will happen for them. The Heat want to be a historic team right? Beating a multiple decade long team record such as consecutive win streak is a way to do that.
In addition to what Tim_H, people forget that when the Big 3/team give it their all, they don't have to work hard for 48 minutes. Who do you think is taking more stress Kobe or the Big 3?

If they make it past the back to back in Toronto and Boston, they can definetely do it. It is not like they are really focusing on it right now and they are ripping through it, especially thanks to roleplayers.
Look at LeBron. He had pretty medicore March (except the game in MSG), but role players, Wade & Bosh are doing great job and when needed, he will win the game for you in clutch (e.g. Memphis, Orlando).
About Bucks, they are definetely going to focus on that game, because Bucks is a possible 1st round matchup and this streak is all about statements.

The streak is amazing, I'm loving it and we look unstoppable; as long as we don't burn our guys out by trying too hard to maintain the streak, I'm on board for 34. Tim seems to have the right mentality on this thread.

The guys aren't even playing all that hard, they are just making sure to go through the proper paces on defense and offense.
