Why is Bosh such a poor rebounder?

Post#1 » by WhatRickyThinks » Thu Mar 28, 2013 5:28 pm

He's never been Dennis Rodman, but we've repeatedly seen him say his goals are to get 10 rebounds per game, but since then he's gotten worse. He had four rebounds and Boozer had 17. Not to mention the countless other bigs that torch him on the glass. He's slight of build, but so was Garnett in his prime and he was a glass eater. Bosh obviously contributes to the team, but its in a way that doesn't seem to utilize his height at all. If Bosh were just an average rebounder for his position we're talking an unbeatable squad.

since coming to Miami bosh has lost an offensive rebound per game, which i assume is due to his role as being used more to create space and be perimeter-oriented. I wonder why his D boards are down so much though. He was always a good rebounder on Toronto so i assume it has to do with how he's utilized. He never had a big problem going for boards.

interesting note: Bosh''s playing the lowest minutes per game of his entire career, Dwyane is 2nd lowest minutes, and Lebron is 3rd Lowest. These guys are going to be pretty fresh for the playoff run.

Because he is the reverse version of Juwana Mann. I was finished on him as a masculine figure after Kirk Hinrich took his man card.

future reference: concern over other peoples masculinity says to others you're insecure about your own and just project that on other people. Besides, Bosh has probably had more very beautiful women than you and all the other people who call him unmanly or gay could ever wish to have.

Hinrich blatantly grabbing Bosh's wrist and fouling him with no call is "manly"? Okay....

You mean last night? Hinrich fouled the **** out of Bosh there. Flat out grabbed his wrist/hands and yanked him down. Should Bosh have been able to hold his ground? Sure but a foul is a foul.

But yeah, Bosh is just not a very good rebounder. It's a combination of soft mixed in with a lack of skill/effort. I will say he CAN do better though and I expect to see that in the playoffs.

Because Bosh is the only one who tries to Box out his man and rebound at the same time and he is a bad slump right now

Bosh may not be the best rebounder but his teammates arnt helping, As noone else boxes out on alow put back after put backs, but of course its all Boshs fault he cant rebound over 3 people

He will bring the rebounding numbers up in the playoffs, guaranteed. Book it, 11 rebounds per game in the playoffs.

Emo fan answer = pussy. Real answer = not that type of player/situation.

A lot of rebounds, the type Kevin Love stat pads with, he simply lets go to Lebron or another ball handler. I see at least 2 a game to Lebron alone. I've played with big guys that are ball handlers and jumping for a ball going to him anyways, just to grab and it pass it to him just slows down your pace. If Bosh made it his mission to just stat pad rebounds, he could 10 per game easy ( see Toronto). If anything I am a little mad at how many WIDE open jumpers his been missing lately. That's suppose to be his bread and butter.

Bosh grabbed 10 rebounds a game in Toronto when he played more minutes and shared court with an even softer Center

BOsh now plays less minutes and surrounded by better rebounders
Stop being so disrespectful.

Honestly though, Hinrich does not grab that rebound over Anderson like he did to Bosh. Bosh got outhustled but also got thrown down too. If it were Anderson getting pulled down like that, Hinrich's back wouldn't have left the floor.

I don't know which player are you taking about? I have never seen Bosh Box out his man!
Bosh isn't a good rebounder, because he is soft and he isn't a physical player! he is simply Cristina!
Tell me please, what does Bosh bring to our game?
he is a one-diminional player, he is sitting, only, for jumpers and only for jumpers! he rarely attacks the basket, he doesn't rebound the ball, he is an average and overrated defender and he lose the matchup with any center in the league!

The Heat are among the worst rebounding teams in the league. Bosh is the main reason for this. To say Lebron is taking his boards is absurd. Dwight Howard averaging 20 minutes a game could get more than seven a game. C'mon. This is a serious weakness and appears to be the only one that can cost the Heat the ring.
Bosh is an elite shooter and his help defense is solid. He's a net positive player.

Agree with majority of the posts.

I don't understand why he is not grabbing at least 8-9 rebounds per game.

Being one of the worst in the league in rebounding is a terrible stat for a team coming first. Let's hope we reverse this come playoff time and Bosh will need to step up.

The reason we win is because we are the most efficient offense and second in 3pt % and also force a lot of turnovers whilst not turning the ball over much. Oh and plus we can play lock down D when we want to.

But to repeat this year we do have to pick up the rebounding simple as that. Don't have to win the boards every game but certainly stay competitive. Watch for Bron to grab 10+ boards during playoffs.

If rebounding is our only true weakness I see this as something we can fix cause to me rebounding is more about effort and focus rather thank just size. We have guys who can board they just don't seem to focus on that enough sometimes but like I said come playoffs this will change.

Can we please just fast forward and get to the playoffs now!!!!

Okay!

This is my opinion and the opinion of a lot of basketball opinionists here in Italy! Bosh is doing the minimum for this team and he should give and play much better!
13p and 5 rebounds after the ASG is just laughable!

He's become relegated to jump shootings with guys likes Bron in the post more. I don't mind it and I'm sure he is capable of 8+ boards on a nightly based, just not on the current scheme of this team. Spo's fault in some way you could say.
