OT: Nike LeBron Brand 300 Mill In Sales For 2012

This affects all shoes and is especially visible in the signature products market. Apparently the average retail price of a men’s sneakers increased 7% in 2012. Not so long ago LeBron James’ main signature shoes cost $160, now it’s $180 and we’re looking at $200 in a couple of months. Raising the prices raises another question of how does that influence the sales. Turns out life’s good for Nike and their LeBron brand. In 2012 LeBron sales reached a whooping $300 million while other lines reached $50 million for Kobe Bryant, $35 million for Kevin Durant, $25 million for Derrick Rose. The gap is very big, but just to put things in perspective the whole Jordan Brand is still on another level with $2 billion in 2012. As for the LeBrons it was all about the Nike LeBron X with a big increase over the LeBron 9. All info is provided courtesy of SportsOneSource analyst Matt Powell.
I know LeBrons shoes are priced more than the others but that much of a gap?
Even though there are other factors including apparel etc. Jordan Brand bringing in 2 billion is crazy as well.

I wonder what Jordan's shoe worth was @ LBJ's age and stage of his career... regardless to say wow @ that gap.

Cost way to much. Though Jordans were probably more when I was a kid if you take inflation into account.

Not sure how much MJs cost back in the day, but I put $200 just to show the difference.

I am surprised LeBron is so far ahead of Kobe. You would think with the stupid amount of Lakers fans, Kobe fans, LA being a huge market, and China loving Kobe, that his sales would at least be close to LeBron's, if not higher.
What were LeBron's sales in 2011 (before winning a championship)?

Price of basketball shoes has gotten to be a bit too much. You almost can't use the things because if you wear them out like I do, you'll be buying a new pair soon and that's just more money. Happy Lebron's shoes are doing well but I can't go near those things.

suprised about Kobes. here in Brissy they are generally much more popular than the Lebrons. Obviously it is <0.1% of the market though

ive been buying lebron shoes since the 4's. even got the south beaches and was tempted to sell them for 400 to a friend
