More Playoff Injuries- Russell Westbrook Knee Surgery

Post#1 » by Sejope » Fri Apr 26, 2013 5:08 pm

With Russell Westbrook out, the focus will now most likely shift to the Spurs vs Heat as the most likely finals matchup. This is a HUGE blow for OKC and their title chances. Does anyone think they still have a shot to reach the finals?

Major loss for OKC. Westbrook is big time.

Not going to say OKC is done though, just no longer the favorites to make it out of the West. I still say they beat the Rockets and advance to the 2nd round.

Huge loss, but if KD is at the level everyone thinks he's at hell be able to carry his team. I really want to see him do it also I think it'd be great to see.

Okc is done. Westbrook gone, gallinarri for Denver gone, lee for gs gone. The spurs-clippers 2nd round series is pretty much the wcf

People are really sleeping on NY and San Antonio if they think this clears Miami to the ship

NY sure will be a challenge, but OKC was bigger threat to us in Finals.'This, however, doesn't make our road to Championship a cakewalk, and I don't enjoy other people being injured, it's bad for the game.

I think OKC and the Spurs both posed the same amount of threat but in different ways. The Spurs are a great team that can hit you in multiple ways where as OKC is a young athletic team that can wear you down. Both have their challenges, neither are a sure "Heat Championship." Plus if we keep playing defense like this NYK is going to shell us from 3.

Horrible news. I don't much like Westbrook, but respect his game. Probably one of few players I would of listed as seemingly invincible. Just goes to show you, appreciate a years with minimal injuries.

I dont know what to think of that series. Our shooters will give them a bunch of issues, their defense is not that good. But CP3 is a beast and suer clutch, and crawford is as big a heat killer as they come. I would pick miami in 5 or 6 if thats the series.

Yeah Crawford always goes off on us  But if we have our shooting right, we put em out quicker.

I'm getting so f'n tired of this crap. First Rose, then Rondo, then Gallinari, then Kobe and now Westbrook. I don't know what injury bug is going around but it's making me pissed. I for one wouldn't mind seeing us play OKC in the Finals again but if Westbrook is out then they don't have a chance to make it out of the Western Conference. I hate hearing other team fans saying "It took half of the league to go down just for LeBron to win a ring". Players are just falling left and right, it's just cray man...

Anyone else notice OKC section like super dead. Some old ass threads at the top, and like no comments on this practically, no game threads...wtf?

I'm pretty sure they'll shut Westbrook down for the rest of the playoffs instead of rushing him back so that pretty much means Clippers, Spurs, or Grizzlies if we make it to the Finals. I hate that Westbrook got injured but this does make the playoffs more interesting because I was pretty positive we'd have a Finals rematch before this injury.

Not a lot of OKC fans on RealGm.

It's also pathetic how certain predictable fan bases think, or hope that someone on Miami will get injured next. A Knicks mod basically said he wants Lebron to get hurt. Disgusting.

This seems to be where their fans post: http://www.okcthunderfans.com/vforum/index.php

Some fanbases don't have a big presence on RealGM because they have a larger community elsewhere (Blazers Edge, RealCavsFans, etc.)

Can you link that? That's pretty embarrassing if true.

Hate to say it boys but our biggest challenge in the league now is the Knicks. I HATE every single thing about the Knicks but with Wade having another setback and with the way we're playing...

Personally I'm not impressed at all with the Clippers. I think the Spurs would take them out if they meet in the WCF. The Spurs don't scare me either because Tony Parker is semi-healthy. He's not explosive like how he was in January where he was getting MVP considerations...

And what is up with the OKC board on RealGM? That place is a dead zone over there. For such a great team and for it to not have a lot of fans on there is mind blowing...Same could be said for the Spurs & Pacers boards also...
