Joakim Noah's Techs

Post#1 » by CeCeySay » Sat May 11, 2013 7:10 pm

This is prolly a quick answer for someone who knows, and sorry if it's not thread worthy, but after 3 playoff techs, isn't the next a game suspension? If my calculations are right, Noah has 3, meaning if the game suspension is after 3, his next is going to cost him a game, no? As hot headed as he is, with at least 2 more games to play, I don't see him avoiding another T. As good a coach as Thibs is, disciplining your players (especially your best ones) is a must & also a measure of your coaching. These are like the Cobra Kai bulls (sweep the leg, Nazr!)

Thanks Mopper, nice find on the rule book. Hard to imagine Noah didn't get one in the Nets' series.

Related to this subject, LeBron needs to be careful of not getting another tech. He has two in the Bulls series now. I don't recall that he got one in the Bucks series. The Bulls are starting altercations and LeBron needs to stay out of them, especially if he gets a third tech.

I guess that goes for all of the Heat players.

The way Noah emotionally reacts in games reminds me of Zo before he and Riley came to town.

Honestly, I'm not worried about Bron at all with T's. Joey Crawford flexes hit T signal every day in the mirror when he wakes up. He was brought into that game to make sure nothing got out of hand. Normally, Bron wouldn't have gotten a T for that, but considering the built up tension (no pre-tip hand shakes told you already), the T was being called. If anything, Wade is showing more to be the emotional fragile player, throwing the ball at Bellineli, which was a good foul, and continuing to plead his case with refs during play.

You owe this board an apology for paralleling Noah to Zo in any way (and I know your comment had nothing to do with skill or talent)

Why? Zo was a big time hot head before he came to Miami.

Alonzo always played firey, I think Noah does a lot of things different than Zo though. Zo was physical Noah is physical as well but he tries to get into your head with alll that damn yelling and clapping. Clearly it hasnt worked for Miami and seems to have thrown Chicago off more.

IMO when a player has to resort to such instigating acts such as clapping hands and screaming to the air NEAR the opposition (especially when it does not involves him), but not face to face (which it would mean he really means business), to me that's one fake tough guy who knows he has protection (from the refs).

Zo would never do such kitty cat move.

Noah is more Rodman than Zo in the way he tries to get into other players' heads. But in terms of losing his cool and exploding emotionally, he's like a young Zo.

Rondo has done similar things like Noah (remember him going to the Heat huddle more than once?), but at least Rondo has balls and doesn't back away like Noah. I used to think Rondo was a hot headed fake tough guy.

I dont wanna get into it - I was referring to raw emotions getting in the way of him helping his team - if you personally take offense to my opinion, eh so what

It wasn't a totally serious comment. I am very aware of Alonzo Mourning's court temperament throughout his career.

Being a lifelong Heat fan, whether based in reason or not, I don't enjoy a comparison between my favorite player of all time and the scum of the earth.

He can also make parallel Noah and Zo because they both have 2 hands. Doesn't mean I wanna hear it.

Plus, Zo was a hot head in a different way than Noah. Zo was never really the type to go into games looking to get in people's heads or set a tone with antics, he was more the target of that actually. Zo had a short fuse and would not hesitate to retaliate. Noah is a clown

If Noah was on the Heat you'd love him and kiss his ass.

He plays hard all the time, plays through injuries, plays both ends of the floor, can bring the crowd into it and plays with heart and passion.

If you like Birdman, you'd love Noah. And he'd fit very well with this team. He's very much the type of player Riley loves.

In fact, I hope Reinsdorf somehow mistreats him so when his contract is over Riley can work his magic on him and bring him to the Heat. I would laugh my ass off watching Bulls fans flip their **** and call him a traitor.

And before you say it's impossible and Lebron would never play with him, that's probably what people thought about Jordan and Rodman in the early 90s.
