Free Throw Disparity

Post#1 » by Grumpy Heat Fan » Mon May 27, 2013 3:47 am

Pacers:Heat Free throw disparity

Game 3 44:28
Game 2 32:26
Game 1 32:25

Total 108:79

Looks like the NBA ramped it up tonight to try to put Miami into a hole in this series, but 8 v 5 couldn't get it done tonight.

For a team who's highest scorer only shoots layups, as well as a team full of flaming floppers who only shoot layups, it seems like the two teams should be pretty close in FTs.

Paul George a "forced star"?

3.5 FTA regular season.

7.6 FTA in the playoffs.

The Heat found the cheat codes to beating the Pacers, you just put James on the block against George and then let anybody go to work against Stephenson. good bye sweet series, hello sweep of the AARP Spurs.

It's still an issue to me, it's stressful to watch too. Lucky we were hitting shots tonight

Yep, RealGM needs to replace the mods they got cause the ones they have are biased as hell.

I wouldn't get suspended though if I made a thread about LeBron and hoping he got injured or got in a car crash though. That thread would be allowed to go 50 pages before it's locked

And the free throws look like this in those games

Game 3 44:28

This is getting ridiculous. You think the media and the GB would be this quiet if the teams were switched?

The officiating has been very bad. I just commented about this in the post game thread. Hibbert is really getting away with murder around the hoop and I don't know why. He never gets called for a foul no matter how hard he hits people.

The officials started making a lot of calls in our favor in the second half though. I think you'll see West getting a lot of calls going against him, but the officials love hibbert.

I'll say this. We're fouling them a lot. It's inevitable. We front the post very aggressively to compensate for lack of size, and we've had plenty dumb fouls on the perimeter. I can't fault the FT disparity. They get fouled a lot in the act of shooting because we foul their bigs a lot. That's why they don't score as much in the paint as they could. A lot of those FTs are from paint fouls.

I don't know why Hibbert never gets called for a foul when he pushes our guys who are fronting him in the back of the head. He does that play every time, but I've not seen it called once.

And then I call BS on Hibbert's "verticality". He's come down with his arms a bunch of times and not gotten called.

The FT disparity is basically the refs treating Hibbert like he's the best player in the world.

This will come in handy to bring up next time someone says refs play in our favor.

How about David West? I wonder if I'm the only one who saw him on multiple occasions just run down the court and shove players out of the way. Want low post position? Run in and double-arm shove Battier. Want that foul line to catch a pass? Just run to the spot and chuck anyone there out of the way. And he's got some KG in his picks too. He loves checking guys fighting through the screen with his elbows. I find he gets away with far more than Hibbert does. Then again, I could just be biased.

Don't bring that blasphemy up on the GB. Those are pure 'flops'.

Or so they say they are :-?

Honestly, I don't have THAT much of a beef with a lot of the FTs Hibbert is getting. He's obviously getting the benefit of the doubt in a lot of cases, but that's not too big of a deal to me.

My main problem is with how he's allowed to absolutely murder people on the defensive end. Verticality is jumping straight up with your arms up, not jumping then raking your arms down. Hibbert is really getting a pretty absurd amount of respect from the refs in this regard. I also have a problem with a lot of the touch fouls we're getting called for on the perimeter. Chalmers and Cole are just getting run into and there's a foul called every time, meanwhile, on the other end, when West shows on a pick and LeBron goes into him, there's no whistle. I think a lot of the fouls called on Bosh are BS too, but what can you do.

Hibbert getting calls is one thing since hes down low(yet a lot of his calls have been insane especially with how much contact LeBron and Bosh have been getting) its the calls on Hill that have me going on a cursing rampage during the game. The guy is always at the FT line, and I know Chalmers is known for some dumb fouls but a lot of these calls are just awful.

i watched the Game last night and was really shocked especially at the Hibbert calls :o

he got away with at least 2 or 3 clear Shooting fouls...

and Bosh was not alowed to point his finger at him^^

but what really got me mad was the foul call from Mario at Hill at the Break... they showed the replay twice.. and i just did not se a lick of contact :-?

i don“t know what is going on right now...

i just hope for a evenly called game... would be great^^
