My usual Chris Bosh bitch thread

Post#1 » by contract » Mon May 27, 2013 2:31 pm

Speaking of "small ball", is anyone else excited that Chris Bosh finally grabbed double digit rebounds?

3 games vs the Pacers ... 10 rebounds

For the series:

LeBron: 22 rebs

Haslem: 17 rebs

Birdman: 17 rebs

Wade: 16 rebs

Bosh: 10 rebs

Yes I'm happy we won ... but still, Chris Bosh vexes me. :curse:
.

Eh... I feel for Bosh. He has to battle down low by himself and he gets into foul trouble. I believe he has been in foul trouble all 3 games, but he has been there offensively. He came out gunning, then of course the whistle starts to come in and Bosh does not get the benefit of the doubt.

Birdman and UD stepping up has really helped. Birdman and UD got 16 rebs combined last night.

bosh does what he is supposed to do - he cannot get rebounds since he is shooting from outside to draw his defender (usually another big) out, leaving the basket open for rebounds for others. While Birdman is having a stellar streak right now, he and Joel are not enough. The Heat need a true center. (ya know, bosh for hibbert works straight up on the trade checker) I'm sure Indy wants to trade him

Bosh is out there to space the floor and hit jump shots, rebounding is just a plus really. We have Haslem, Birdman, LeBron, Wade who are all great rebounders to worry about that. Him hitting his jump shot is a lot more important than him rebounding. Could he do a better job? Sure, but given that on offense hes never in the paint its not that bad.

You are right about why Bosh is not getting many rebounds. He was getting 10+ in Toronto when he was playing closer to the basket.

I disagree though about the Hibbert trade. The way this team is built, Hibbert would just clog the paint for Lebron and Wade. It would have been different if Wade would have developed a 3p shot, but he hasn't, so spacing is harder with him on the floor than with a pure shooter.

Bosh did well rebounding against Milly and Chicago, but Indy is a different story. Hibbert is one of the biggest Cs in the league. Bosh is just trying to put a body on him. He's also been in foul trouble the entire series.
And the rebounding has been even over the first three games anyway.

Ya the fouls are a big thing as well. Hibbert apparently only gets fouled, he never commits them. Also I'd rather Hibbert get a hook shot to drop than pack the paint and have Hill/George light us up from 3.

The refs won't even let him breathe on Hibbert without fouling him. A big reason why this series is close IMO is the fact that Bosh has been in foul trouble every single game.

This. He's been in foul trouble all series, which has affected how he can fight down low on defense or when boxing out. He's gotten some tough calls trying to front the post, or when he puts his arms straight up to defend. You can see his frustration, but he's doing what he can in his minutes. I never fret about the rebounds. Even when he's not grabbing boards, he's doing a solid job of boxing out his man.

The important point is that as a team, we aren't getting killed on the boards. I wouldn't point to rebounding as a serious issue for us in this series, so as long as the team is getting the boards, I can't hold it against Bosh.

Do you even watch the games? This is what happens when you only look at the stats. You have elite rebounders at the 2 and 3 spot and..... Why even bother, feel like I do this every other week..

Bosh needs a big body beside him. Someone like jo or dalembert. Bosh always gets stuck under the basket trying to fight with other bigs for the rebound. A big center beside bosh will give him more room .

Bosh really got us going in Game 3. Look beyond the box score. Like others have said, he's been in foul trouble with some ridiculous calls going against him. And the lack of rebounds is mainly because he's trying to box his guy out, and letting our other guys get to the ball first. Gang rebounding.

i would love it too if Bosh got 8+ Rebounds but i think Foul trouble and him beeing used as a pure shooter for spacing reasons just don´t allow that...

and so far the Rebounds havent´t killed us...

so far so good

Bosh can't box out and rebound which is pretty sad. My thing is I understand why he doesn't have more Offensive boards (sometimes) because he's on the perimeter so much but defensively with his height and especially when Hibbert isn't out there he has to come up with more than just 2-3 boards a game. Let's be serious here. That stretch when Birdman was getting owned by West and he finally got a stop at the rim and Bosh let West get his board back TWICE then he put it in summed up Bosh for me. It's still about effort and will and all Bosh cares about is his play on offense. That won't always be enough.

They force fed bosh in the beginning of game 3 and it worked out well. Kudos to spo for making that adjustment.

It was what...2 weeks ago Bosh had almost a 20/20 game against Noah. Dude can rebound. But he's trying to box out Hibbert--and a lot is that he's in foul trouble. Plus he's not in a position to offensive rebound--which I think he is actually very good at. But it's hard to offensive rebound from the 3 point line.

I think it's fine, so long as we're rebounding as a team.

I hope the refs let Bosh play a full game in game 4 because I think he can have a monster game against the Pacers. They can't guard him.

The annoying thing is Bosh isn't even getting a ton of shooting fouls with hibbert. A lot of them are piddly non-shooting fouls just trying to hold his position. Apparently it's against the rules to try and front Hibbert--or breathe on him. Never seen a non-superstar get so many bad calls going his way on both ends. Both in our series and the Knicks series.

The Pacers as a whole feel like a team that the NBA has propped up on FTs hoping they can at least push us long enough in a series so they can say "look small markets!"

Oh well. At least the Pacers aren't playing dirty like the Bulls were. Besides David West I mean. I love how since David West is never in foul trouble, he can take about two fouls per game where he just takes a cheap shot on someone.
