Bandwagon Heat Fans

Post#1 » by Axel » Tue Jun 18, 2013 9:29 pm

I just have to say that, in real life, I have yet to meet one of these supposed "fans". Since I don't have cable, I usually watch the Playoffs at local bars. If anything, there are 100X more bandwagon Heat haters (most of whom tell me they hate LeBron) than there are "bandwagon fans". In every bar I've been in (I live in North Carolina) I've been the only Heat fan. I hate cable (think its a scam), but I'm starting to think I'd rather pay for it than listen to General Board comments like "OHHH LEBRON'S CRYING!! HE'S CRYING!!" "SHUT UP AND PLAY!!" constantly. Do you have to live in South Florida to find other Heat fans out?

All I know is, my co-workers have been giving me hell and I'm pissed off. I've taken off Thursday night off of work because there will be a Game 7 and we will win it! I hope the team is as fired up as I am. I still remember how I felt like I was in Dallas in NC when the Mavericks beat us, and I hated it!

GO HEAT!!

It's fun imo when fighting against co-workers/friends that hate the Heat.

I love when my team wins and next day I can't wait to brag about it - Most of them are Kobe fans so it makes the discussion a lot more fun

I'm okay with both bandwagon fans, even the haters. At least they are watching the games. The people I don't get are the "true" fans who don't even watch if their team gets knocked out. I watched MJ/Shaq/Kobe when we sucked, because I love basketball. I hated 2/3 of them, but it was just a shame not to.

Sometimes bandwagoners are more real basketball fans than the ones who brag about being loyal to their team.

I know how you feel. I'm a teacher, and my co-workers are cool about it - the main one I talk to is a Celtics fan with his head on pretty straight about most things non-Celtics.
I get it from students trying to get a rise out of me - constantly. There's one true Spurs fan (i know his dad is also a Spurs fan), the rest are mostly Lakers/Knicks/Celtics haters. I just ask them how their team is going, and they reply some crap like "yeah, but the Spurs are up".

Face it, it's fashionable to hate the Heat once your team is out, if not all the time.

True. For many "loyal" fans that means they only watch the NBA when their team is in the finals or if they happen to be at a bar when the game is playing.

since the Heat are in it, I will watch every second. If they were not in the final, I would still watch but not emotionally, but to see good ball.

I am a bandwagon Heat fan. Been a LeBron fan with no ties to Ohio or Florida and living in a state with no Basketball team.

But so what if I am a bandwagoner? I bleed for Spo, Wade, Bosh, Allen, Miller and the rest just as much.

Clearly, you don't ride enough band wagons. You should try taking the band wagon to work instead of your car, from time to time.

I think that given that 90 percent of the world hates this team--any fans the Heat can get, they should take. I mean if you support the Heat you get so much crap for it in pretty much every part of the country. Even in South Florida you have to deal with knick fans constantly trolling you waiting for the team to fail. My mother in law and brother in law are both crazy knick fans, so any time the heat are struggling it's open season on them.

I feel like everyone who is a heat fan right now has to deal with so much **** mean it's almost impossible to post on the General Board here without getting banned, just because you are a heat fan. If someone says they are a heat fan--man...it sure beats another insane hater talking about how **** the team is constantly.

To be a Miami Heat fan you have to have a thick skin, Twitter and Facebook mentions been really amusing when Spurs had 5 point lead, but so many mouths were shut after Allen 3 and after we won the game.

Look no further than the disgrace of fans that decided to leave the arena early. I know a lot of people, hardcore fans, that would pay a lot of money to be there to experience an NBA finals game, win or lose. To leave with minute down 5??? Shameful.

The "Bandwagon" Heat fan crap is very old and lazy. Isn't the same to be said for almost every major fan base? How about all those Lakers fans? Or how about all those Bulls fans(The average attendance before MJ; 6,365) ? I argued with a friend who is from Boston and I called out his city for the lack of support for the Patriots right before Bledso & Brady(Pats’ 17-game television blackout streak to record-breaking attendance totals in seasons following a Super Bowl appearance). How about Hoosier city? Indy is known for the there passion for Basketball? 2nd Best record in EAST, 3rd worst attendance record.

So please! Before you come with it, back your **** up.
