At what point did you give up?

Post#1 » by Pure_Basketball » Wed Jun 19, 2013 7:00 am

When did you actually give up if at all tonight? I know people in the game thread when Miami are down 6 after a run in the 3rd quarter like to say 'that's it, Heat suck it's over' when not meaning it just because they're passionate. But I mean when did you actually believe our season was over tonight?

There were two times were I thought we were done, when Miami were down 13 in the 3rd I had a sick feeling in my stomach that they were going to run over us and this was the way our season was going to end, and then when I truly believe Miami's season was over was when manu headed to the line with 21 seconds left to make it 5 or 6.

When did you feel like it was all over and in your heart get all emotional and sad?

Yep - am with you, when we were down 13, spur players getting AND 1's left to right really stung. All I thought about is the off-season and the **** this team will be taking and dismantling the big 3 which would be the last thing on my mind.

But after LBJ started to go off I felt hope - Then it's all history!

A game to remember - easily a game I'd share with my grand-sons/daughters.

For now.. we need to make Spurs our Son's in the name of Don lmao

once parker hit that step back 3 over lebron i said **** it. spurs have hit more BS shots than i've ever seen in my life. they deserve it. then once parker travelled in the lane and hit the shot to take the lead i was at peace with death

I never "gave up," so to speak, but I definitely started picturing the Spurs victory when we were down by 5 at the end. Admit it, you all did too.

It had to be when Parker hit that bs shot over Rio. I was like phuck it and was on the verge of turning my TV but something just told me to keep watching. I usually don't pray but I prayed before this game for a Heat win and my prayers were answered :D

Before we congratulate ourselves, we still haven't won. That game can very much be a prelude of what's to come, and who knows what kind of lucky shots will or will not go in this time.

NGL.

When Manu Ginobli went to the free throw line to put them up either by. 4 or. 5, I started to pace around my kitchen (next to where my living room is) with my head down, trying to shake it off. I went back just in time to see him miss the first.

When Parker hit that 2 point floater after that clutch 3...

I was devastated, but I'm happy to be proven wrong about this team at the end there.

We still haven't won though... but so far it's the best Finals game in a long time.

I actually shut it off after the Manu free throws and started playing FIFA trying to ignore the rabid insanity of happy haters on my twitter feed. Then I checked over to see what the score ended up being, and I was like "oh **** we're in OT".

The only other time that's happened to me was that Bulls game 5 a few years ago where Lebron and wade went on like a 15-0 run in like 2 minutes to close out the Bulls.

When the Spurs went up 5 with 30 seconds left, I texted my brother 'Heat in 7'

When 3rd QTR started rolling ..I'm like damn..this is just horrible to watch. So I turned that TV off and just keep looking at my phone for updates of the score...and then when the Heat was closing in around mid of 4th qtr..I started watching again. I'm sorry for ever doubting my Heat again. ;(

I don't get how you can turn off the game at that point. Wtf was the point of watching all of it if you're just gunna bitch out and turn it off when it goes bad? I'm so happy those idiots got locked out of the game when they left early.

94-89. I smashed my remote remotely the floor and it completely shattered.

I was losing confidence but I still had confidence in this team UNTIL the play where lebron tries the little lob to bosh and ginobli grabs it and gets fouled. Right then I lost all hopes

Never!
A real fan never gives up on his team, it saddens me that people were leaving with 5 down in the 4th. These are the finals!!!! Every player in this game gave it everything they had.
Lebron was so winded after bringing us within a fighting chance and chasing Tony Parker around that a mistake was bound to happen sooner or later, and he made 2 mistakes on offense that led to 5 points for TP. I couln't believe the crap the "heat fans" were writing at that point about our GOAT (mind you, although a long time Heat fan I've always been a Lebron hater until last season).

If anyone doesn't believe that I still believed when we were down in the 3rd, I tried to keep the other posters positive. Check page 90 of the game thread. Heat fan never gives up!

I never turned off the game. But with that said, when LeBron turned the ball over with like 40 seconds left in the 4th which resulted in Manu making both FTs, I punched my printer and also knocked over my lamp.

Damn this Miami Heat team!
