As I said on another thread, I'm back after a long hiatus due to job promotion, health issues, personal problems...

I was thinking:

If we don't win anything next year, not even make it to the finals, and Bosh and LeBron walk away...would you retire their jerseys?
I know Wade will have his retired for sure and so will Udonis.

Personally, I would retire Bosh's and LeBron's.

I think the next jerseys to retire should be Shaq's (I know I'm in a minority here), Udonis, Wade, Bosh and LeBron.

they retired Jordan's number, so they should retire the Big three EASILY

As of now I see;
Wade & UD getting jerseys retired.

If LeBron stays for a minium of 5 years, we would retire his aswell. But he maybe the exception to the rule, as under his time here we he has already won 2 titles, 3 MVP's, 2 finals MVP's.

Bosh needs to stay for a minium of 7-8 years for us to retire his jersey.

Never been a fan of retiring Shaq's jersey. It seems forced. I feel the MJ & Marino retirment was forced due to the HEAT looking to create some kind of history but the franchise is at a point, where it doesn't have to force anything anymore.

i dont think u should put much stock into longevity.
i think haslem number should be retired.but i dont see how haslem is lock but lebron not.

Yup, Big 3 and UD will get their jerseys retired. Doesn't matter how long they stay, but what they have done in a short time span. Especially LeBron man, 2 MVP's, 2 rings, 2 Final MVP's, Olympic Medal... it's a lock.

Wade was getting his jersey as soon as he got his ring back in 06

Screw a retired jersey I can see Wade getting a statue right spank infront of the arena. If you guys watched the parade yesterday. Wade signed a jersey and put in a Hublot time capsule that will be reopened in 25 years by a retired Wade

With all of the things they've achieved so far in their 3 year tenture here so far it definitely merits the retirement of their numbers once their journey in Miami is finished. Shaq I think is better off as a Laker retire.

This franchise retired Michael Jordan and Dan Marino's jersey to hang in their arena....lol which is an embarrassment in itself and can't be taken back...

In 3 years a nearly vacant arena just got redecorated with two more titles both of which were back2back...and two back2back league MVP's. This franchise has jumped from the 77" Trailblazers to at least chasing the 90's Bulls. You do the math buddy...

Not Bosh. Hasn't done enough or been here long enough. I can think of several Heat players who deserve it more than him. Just being an All Star on a team that went to the Finals 3 times and won 2 isn't cutting it for me. Dude missed 9 playoff games last season and we still advanced. He's been important, but not that important. You don't see Dennis Rodman's number hanging from the rafters in Chicago.

I wonder what sort of things other fanbases would talk about after consecutive titles.

As for the Big 3, yes to all of them of course.

yes all three will be retired. 2 rings, u bet that means something. And about Bosh, he came through when we needed. had a string of double doubles in the playoffs. People forget because he plays soft most of the tie but he was def helpful in getting us both rings.

Bosh, no way! he is a role player and you don't retire the jersey for a role player!

LeBron and Wade are a LOCK, not sure about Bosh at this point though.

and if Ray Allen stays and we 3peat next year with Ray Allen, then I will add Allen's name to the list as well. Call me crazy, but I think it adds prestige to our organization having Ray Allen's jersey hanging in the rafters, and it would be 100% legitimate since he won 2 rings in a big role with us


ALSO - I would like it if Pat Riley lowers the Dan Marino and Michael Jordan jerseys from the rafters and puts it in a "Memorabilia room" hidden away somewhere. So techniaclly, he's not going back on his retirement ceremonies, but we can hide it from public view and forget about it.

Seriously, I don't mind Dan but take down MJ. He's the GOAT and all but all he did was destroy us in the 90s.

I think it's really cool how Marino's number is retired, dude is a legend. But FOH with Jordan. I don't give a damn if it looks bad take that ****ing jersey down. A Bulls jersey hanging in OUR rafters? So damn embarrassing.
