Apparently with 6 mil you can change blood color

Post#1 » by truthiness » Fri Jun 28, 2013 9:46 am

Wish I could post this on the GB, but apparently I have been banned. Guess I was overusing common sense, which is a banable offense on the GB.

Not long ago Garnett was saying something like "cut me open and I bleed Celtic green!"
Well, apparently all it took to change that color were 6 mil - guaranteed:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--nets- ... 13145.html

Garnett waived his no-trade clause after the Nets agreed to fully guarantee the $12 million owed him for the 2014-15 season, the third year of his contract. Prior to the agreement, the Nets could have bought out Garnett for $6 million.

Just like in 2007, when he wouldn't agree to a trade to the Celtics unless they gave him a 60 mil extension. Despite the fact that that made them instant contenders and he was supposed to be caring so much about winning.

Yeah, he plays hard, but he's always been about money first.
I wonder how he'll be treated by the Celtics fans now. Last year Ray Allen was a "traitor" for leaving for the Heat. How is leaving for the Nets, which are in the same division and wannabe-contenders ?

That said, the Nets got trounced in the trade. They gave up picks through the nose. Unprotected. And I have a feeling some of those are going to be very good, with that King idiot running the show.

And just like that the Nets became a very unlikable team, whereas they were neutral (to me) before and I would have liked them to take the Knicks down a bit, just for **** and giggles. And their black jerseys are really cool.

As for what it means for the Heat .... I think the Nets will be better than the Celtics were last season, but I doubt they'll be as good as the Bulls/Pacers or even the Knicks. Although it would be funny if Kidd left the Knicks to coach the Nets and led them to eliminate the Knicks in the playoffs. I think a good coach could do some damage with that Nets team, maybe even get a 2nd/3rd seed in the East, but if Kidd doesn't get the respect of Garnett and Pierce, they could implode, which might be just as awesome.

I'd really enjoy it if some real hatred developed between the Bulls, Pacers, Nets, Celtics and Knicks. Not that the Celtics would be relevant any more. Those teams already pretty much hate each other, most of them have dirty players and play "physical", so it's likely that when they'll play next season it will be raining technicals and ejections. It'd be really fun to watch those teams fight for the right to be eliminated by the Heat.

PS: I call Garnett the pink sock (DO NOT google "pink sock") because after 2008 he really let out the inner ****.

PPS: Mods, I think this deservers its own thread because it's a big trade and because it changes the landscape in the eastern conference.

KG has always been a guy who plays for the love of $$$$

Look at all those Minnesota years, he never took less to help his team get a better deal

I believe he has earned the most money as a player (not sure)

He just ain't big time.
He ain't no Timmy.
He plays for the love of $$$, not for the love of the game.
Stop being so disrespectful.

KG is all about that bread, crazy to think he is on his way to career earnings of 320,000,000+ (Most of any nba player) that is without knowing how much he´s earned in endorsement deals :o

Gonna be easy to hate Brooklyn. I think that team is going to totally implode, though. They've got 5 guys that all need the ball. Who's sacrificing shots? Which starter is going to be okay averaging 8 points per game?

If they get it figured out, they could be dangerous. Williams, JJ, and Pierce are all great 3-point shooters, and KG has nice range, so the spacing will be good. But I don't see it working out. That team has a lot of personality and not a lot of role players. Looks like something you'd create on a video game.

So how do you think we stack up against them defensively?

Chalmers vs. Deron: Deron kills Chalmers
Wade vs. Johnson: Wade no doubt
LeBron vs. Pierce: LeBron OWNS him
Udonis or Battier vs. KG: This one will hurt us
Bosh vs. Lopez: TIE

You're welcome LeBron.

Tyler Herro is a TURD.
Bam is NOT elite but is getting better.
Fire Spoelstra!
Josh Heupel is coming for you.

It is. The procedure is called Hard Infusion Of Cash.

And these are the times Heat fans should appreciate even more what Lebron, Wade, Haslem, Bosh, Miller and the others have done, sacrificing cash and ego for a chance to win.

And that's why Heat fans should NEVER EVER even think about trading Bosh or amnestying Miller.

What they did was so unique in the history of the NBA and so much of what fans (claim to) want from the players, that it turned most other fans into jealous little bitches, and most of them haven't recovered since.

The key is the bench and we have specialists who fit very well!!! In fact I think that our bench is close to best in the league. To say that Garnett should have taken less. Money as a young kid is a ridiculous statement. To imply that he should have stayed in Minnesota is as well. kG was a part of the most inept franchise other than Cleveland. The Joe Smith fiasco was horrible and lost 5 picks. In the 2003 draft they reached Ndubi Ebi instead of drafting Josh Howard, Kendrick Perkins. Small market teams have to draft well!!!! It was Cleveland's problem. They had 2 more lottery years with Lebron and got Luke Jackson and Jiri Welsch. Ridiculous!!!!

Honestly Deron has really fallen of the last 2 years. I don't see him "killing" our guards. I would be more worried about Rondo than Deron at this stage.

KG would be a mismatch, but KG is getting old.

Chances of this team entering the post season 100% healthy is like 0%.

exactly. might look good for the 1st 1/4th of the season but i doubt they finish higher than 4th
if west/hibbert can't beat miami i'm not concerned about kg/lopez

they'll be better offensively than indy, but the defense won't even be close
worry level: 11.2%

Bro, your whole team is predicated on INDIVIDUAL mismatches. The hypocrisy on this board is at all-time levels.

Williams, JJ and Pierce are solid 3 pt shooters, but none are great. They are all guys with career 3 pt FG% at or under .380 (Terry too). None are especially efficient shooters from 2 either. They do have guys that can get hot and hurt you in a game or a few games, but overall I don't think they will be a consistent or efficient lineup.

All this talk about them feeling salty about Ray leaving looks stupid now. They probably saw Ray win ONE more ring than they did and wanted to contend once again. KG learned his lesson staying in Minny for so long and the opportunities he missed because of it.

Nets are going to be a better team though.

But they are injury prone as hell, especially Lopez.

1. This likely WONT be our starting 5 next year.

2. The last 3 years we're 6-0 against Deron Williams, and Chalmers has held him to 18, 10, 16, 14, 10, and 9 points respectively. That aint exactly getting killed.

3. This isn't how you break down teams
