Critical. He's always been a criminally underrated player and I seriously believe he's probably the 4th or 5th most valuable player on the Heat (big 3 obv, and Chalmers is pretty serviceable).

I have no idea why Haslem's useless arse always gets so much burn and Birdman gets the bench. He's easily the best 5 defender (even though Bosh has been respectable), and is way better offensively at the 5 than Haslem is at the 4 or 5.

The Miami Heat should never play anyone who isn't a member of the big 3, birdman, or a 3pt shooter.

It's a 1 year veterans minimum plus a 20% raise so he'll receive $1.7m plus his $5m from Denver.

Was 99% sure he'll return, good to be 100%, I hope it's for the minimum so we can have some money for another center.

on the yahoo link they tweeted said 2/5 million in the title. Barry Jackson and many others saying 1 year vet minimum of 1.7 million. Hope they are right.

One of the all-time great mid-season pickups. Our record post-birdman is insane. And then in the playoffs he didn't miss a shot for like a month. He sort of proved that a smart catch and dunk center can really work for us and doesn't mess up our spacing.

Will be interesting to see how we use him with a year of having him under our belt. Just hope he stays healthy. He's usually really injury prone, and we were lucky he didn't get injured last year. I think we still need another center for insurance--and for just having an actual 7 footer for when we play specifically Hibbert.

I wanna know the details... it should be 1 year vet min. If it is, it's a steal. I wonder what other offers he got too.

Great to have him back on that one year cheap deal.Now we can save that Mini-MLE, could it be for Oden?

Anyways I'm glad we have Birdman back on board to roll with the second unit,and to have him what do what he does best off the bench:hustle,rebound,block shots,and to be an enforcer.

if we use the mini mle on oden, it would be like spending 10mil next season on oden when you factor in the tax
