Most of the prediction columns I've read this month all basically say the samething,the heat will be too tired & not as hungry as the bulls,pacers & the thunder not because there better than the heat but because the heat would be too tired of going & winning championships. Can you imagine lebron james sitting at his locker saying "guys we've won it the past 2 years I thing it's time to let somebody else win it this year"

Fatigue and lack of motivation are two of the most over played excuses ever. LeBron has shown that his hunger never dies season after season, why else would he work on his game so much. When your leader is so hungry, the rest of the guys follow. This isn't even considering that this is contract year for the big three and Bosh and Wade want to redeem themselves from last year. Allen and Battier might retire following this season, so that's some extra motivation. Most of all, I just refuse to believe that these competitors don't want to win just as much as they did last two years. They clearly like making history (27 game winning streak), and three peat is one of the biggest prize.

Funny how they never mention one of those season was a shortened lockout one.

Laziness is the biggest obstacle.

We're the favorites. That's about all anyone needs to know. If we handle our business and do things the right way, we'll be fine.

ESPN, CNNSI and all Sport outlets have a job and a relationship with NBA. They need to sell a storyline and drive interst in other markets. The HEAT are the favorites but what kind of story is that? HEAT going to win again..fans would say "Whats the point of watching".

I just laugh that the Bulls keep getting mentioned as one of the teams that will knock us off in the East. I think our entire fanbase is more concerned with the Pacers and even the Nets before the Bulls. Probably because Indy has given us trouble 2 years running (I know about the injuries) and the Nets have players that have beaten us in the past.

There have no other legit reasons.. Don't see that as a bad thing.

They are right.

There's a reason why 3 peats are so rare. And let's not forget the last 3 of them (the only ones since the '60s) happened under arguably the best motivator of all time, 2 of which with maybe the most competitive player of all time.

Yes, fatigue (physical and mental) is a huge problem and a major reason for failing to stay on top.

Let's not act like the Heat are above it. They are human, too.

Let's just hope they will have what it takes to get over this obstacle as well.

I know you're kidding, but there's a grain of truth in that. Beas is not only the youngest player on the roster, he's also the most energetic one, and the one with the most to prove. He's hungry. That's why i really want to see him get minutes and do well, he can bring that fresh blood that we do need after 3 long exhausting seasons.

That's crazy, didn't even realize Beasley was the youngest player on the team. You know you're dominant team when all the critics only have one reason the Heat won't win - "hunger".
