LeBron has too many of "those moments"

2010-2011

It seemed like LeBron couldnt close whatsoever in the regular season. Its the only reason he lost the MVP imo. Because even though he was better than DROSE. The Heat lost so many games because they couldnt close late.

The playoffs were a different story. Besides the miss against the Sixers in game 4. He closed pretty well. Had a couple of BS calls against him in the Semis and Conference finals.

The NBA finals were a disaster...

In 2011-2012..

He was much better. Still had his few moments, but nothing as bad as the year before. He was great in closing big moments and especially in the ECF. The NBA Finals he dominated and made timely baskets.

2012-2013

LeBron was probably his best in terms of closing in the regular season. I felt he was good in the playoffs as well. The Finals...were kinda eh.. Game 1, Game 5, and the almost game 6 (He was epic...and then made some of the worst mistakes to end a big game I've ever seen) Thankfully Ray saved him and he redeemed himself in game 7.

We saw it happen again against the Sixers and then tonight.

Its obviously not a question of skill. I dont think its a question of heart. The problem is once he makes a mistake....it sort of snowballs on him.

Thinking back to all of LeBron "fail moments" and I've seen nearly every game thread since he joined.......We find ourselves absolutely befuddled at some of LeBron's "snowballed mistakes"

Before you jump on me...

Remember...we were *that close* from losing the finals last year. Imagine the pressure (1 title for this team isnt enough) and hate we'd be receiving?

I've figured out what LeBron's problem is. He's so much...in fact maybe too much a "thinking man's basketball player" He's always trying to either make the "perfect play", "smart play" or plan his moves out ahead of time.

This is why stuff snowballs on him. THis is why he's probably best when he gets the ball with only a few seconds left and makes an instinctive decision quickly. He's better under duress basically. HIs brilliance is what makes him an all time player. But his overthinking causes these "WTF type moments"

No every great player succeeds every time. However, LeBron is probably the best player....whose had the most WTF moments.

LeBron is my favorite player. Its just a loss in December, I still believe we'll win another championship. But for as great as he is.....I always have the hesitancy....that he'll hesitate or over think.

Its frustrating, but I wish he'd get it more in control.

This team has played 4 seasons in 3 years + the Olympics for LeBron. They know every team is gunning for them and they will only be judged by the playoffs.

LeBron isn't 25 anymore. He will be 29 in a few days. Of course, he is going to take it easy to start the season.

Without even trying the Heat have the second seed locked. I will take that 100/100. For a veteran team like this HCA isn't a make or break anymore. Plus if Oden is healthy, it's over. Relax people.

I notice LeBron throwing the ball away in crucial moments... that's my only beef with him. He has done this in clutch moments as well. I remember it well in Game 6 in the Finals, it was like 3 times in a row.

Other than that, he has a bad back and you can tell. I think it's a valid excuse. We all know his body language by now when he has it going and when he is just pushing himself to be out there.

LeBron always says "One game does not defy our season". Every time LeBron has a bad game, he knows out of the hundreds of games he has played, that one game doesn't defy him as a player. I mean he's won 3 of the last 4 MVP's...

Players these days just brush off bad games and bad decisions in game. I'm sure LeBron does the same. This same LeBron also saved the Heat in game 6 in Boston 2 years ago.

We'll just see come playoff time... but right now this team has had a bunch of bad losses and it's cause our best players aren't healthy and not playing that well (Bosh...).

Exactly! Just go at Hibbert, dont do the fake pass *pre planned* move. Dont rush a pass to Wade because you want to make up for that miss so bad. And dont pre plan an ill advised 3 for no reason.

1- he has to work on his mid-range jumper! It is strange to say, but Lebron mid-range jumper has regressed in the last 2 years and it was better back in the Caves day! And him not taking many shots doesn't help at all, because you needs to shot the ball if you want to find the right rhythm!
2- he needs to use more and more his post-up game and he needs to improve it .

actually everything he said was spot on. I've always felt that Lebron has lacked an in between jumper. Look at every great scorer in the league and you can just give them the ball and all they need is two or three dribbles and they pull up from their sweet spots. This is the biggest reason Paul George has improved dramatically just go watch his highlights. When lebron gets it on the perimeter he either drives or shoots a spot up three. The funny thing is he's probably shooting lights out from midrange but just hasn't mastered the in between pull up shot that makes you an at will scorer. That's the beauty of Lebron is that he can still get better

Just has to reduce the turnovers and operate more from the post (might not be able to due to his back). Up until tonight, even with all the turnovers, he was leading the lead in PER, WS/48, WS, EWA, VA. He'll probably slip in ages of those after tonight, but I don't think we've seen the best of Lebron this regular season.

LeBron's jumper has been shot this year, but lets not pretend he has no midrange. He's got one of the best in the league. I think that back is still bothering him a little bit. The team's off till Saturday, hopefully it heals up by then.

The problem with just going at Hibbert is that he has established that B/s verticality move reputation it results in a block, turnover, or a missed wild layup more often then not LeBron gets tackled going to the rim and there is not a whistle in sight.

Like it or not he has to hit his jumpers and develop a rhythm against the Pacers bowling into Hibbert won't work I don't get why people don't understand that.

I think it's party LeBron's fault because people expect him to just get 30/10/10 every night and partly because it is the internet where social media overreaction reigns supreme.

People may not remember now but LeBron got his points in the ECF by hitting his jumper pretty efficiently.

LeBron has struggled offensively in the last few games with his jumper. Now whether it's because of his back or because he is just out of rhythm that's a separate question.

What I would tell people is that take confidence from the way Miami started the game and looked quite good. In the second half, LeBron and Wade were off, Bosh was again MIA, the shooters were cold for the most part and we still only lost by a few points. At no point this turned into a blowout and we still have Oden waiting in the ranks.

Remember this, *if* Oden is healthy, Hibbert isn't going to feast on an undersized Bosh to look like prime Shaq. With Oden, Hibbert will be neutralized and I don't see how Indiana manages enough points to beat Miami. Of course Oden is a risk and there is a chance that he may not work out at all but if he does, Miami will be unbeatable. Even if Oden doesn't work out we have LeBron and Wade. I think I will take my chances.
