People are gonna hate this post, but it's nice and Lebron should be proud but Michael was 21 when he was a rookie and Lebron and Kobe were both 18... You're comparing an 11 year season to an 8 year season. Still impressive but if you're comparing by season then the numbers are different except for MVP.

Hmm playing in North Carolina with James worthy was a great advantage for Jordan !

Well, I didn't write the post, I saw it and thought it was interesting! I just re-wrote what it had, just for people who didn't want to click on it. Of course we all know that (not all equal number of seasons), it does show how many games each had played by 29.

It was mostly made just because of his Birthday Celebration, to see all he has accomplished by age 29. (Age) Which is a number a lot of people overlook in stats. The fact is, LeBron has been the "youngest" (in terms of age) to reach almost every check point on the path to "the pinnacle of human achievement" in NBA history books.

I can re-make it the original post, and instead take each of their stats through their 9th season. LeBron being in his 10th and not fully finished. I am actually curious to see what those comparisons look like.

First Decade in NBA (or first 10 season of play in NBA for MJ):
LBJ:
Games: 765
Points: 21,081
Rebounds: 5553
Assists: 5302
Steals: 1323
Blocks: 676
Season MVPS: 4
Finals MVPS: 2
Titles: 2
Finals Appearances: 3

Kobe:
Games: 707
Points: 16,866
Rebounds: 3616
Assists: 3586
Steals: 1059
Blocks: 431
Season MVPS: 0
Finals MVPS: 0
Titles: 3
Final Appearances: 4

Michael Jordan: (93-94 is actual 10th year, but didn't play so counting 94-95)
Games: 684
Points: 21,998
Rebounds: 4336
Assists: 4025
Steals: 1845
Blocks: 697
Season MVPS: 3
Finals MVPS: 3
Titles: 3
Final Appearances: 3

I normally never compare with HOF players like this, I personally believe once a HOF, you are no longer comparable to anyone, your just a HOF aka untouchable. But I was too tempted to compare MJ with them.

I hate to say this, but when I look at "who had the better decade" to start their careers, I really see why so many compare LeBron to Jordan. Of course if you add the next 3 years of Jordan, he won 3 straight Titles (again) and LeBron's future is still up for grabs on whether he will get the fabled 3-peat this year, which is "not" part of his first 10 years. (Kobe also got the 3-peat (with same coach as Michael Jordan), just not in his first 10 years in league.)

So taking first 10 isn't exactly "fair", like the 29 years old comparison, even if every players started rookie season at 19. All it does when taking "dates or time", is see who got where "first".

It didn't mean that Jordan stopped playing basketball during that age span. There is always a slight chance that if he started his career early, his game would've never translated in the NBA at that stage of his career

And you've got to figure he's going to win a minimum of 2 more MVPs and 2 more titles, MINIMUM. We're watching the greatest to ever play

Not a big deal, but LeBron has been in 4 Finals, not just 3. 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013. ;)

Oh yeah, I tossed in appearances at last second, for a second I almost completely forgot he played in Cleveland.

As far as I am concerned, not being a big fan of his at all, I believe it is not a matter of "if" he can get 5-6 rings, but a matter of "when", Lebron can get 5-6 Rings!

Streaks come and go, line ups change and some guys stay, but neither MJ nor Kobe got more than 3 rings in 1 streak. So whether LeBron gets the 3 peat or not, I would expect in another 2-5 years (after this year) for him to go after it again, whether with Miami(and without Wade), or with a new team. If he gets the 3 peat, you know the team is going after the legendary 4 peat. Which would probably seal him as "LJ".

Well Wade is ~3 years older than LeBron, so he may retire sooner. So it's possible LeBron could win ring(s) then I guess.

Just technicality, really. Wade wouldn't get to two w/o Lebron unfortunately :-?

Edit: Then again, you could say Lebron wouldn't get to two without Wade

Eh? I wouldn't be so sure. There are plenty of teams up and coming in the NBA--OKC & Durant could start to get theirs, Pacers could start to get theirs, DRose could start to get his, Miami may get broken up because of luxury tax payments, Dwyane may get injured, Houston & Howard may actually work out, etc etc. Too much that could happen, and Lebron may never get 2 more titles (the MVPs I agree are pretty much going to happen).

I guess enjoying him on our team is asking too much?

lebron is a championship contender no matter what team he's on. As far as Rose, Howard, and Durant getting theirs..people said the same thing about Ewing, Reggie, and Malone in the 90s, but there was this guy named Mj in their way. today, that guy is LeBron

While I respect your gusto, let's be realistic. How often does a player go 6-6 in their finals? Lebron's already been to four finals and lost two of them. There's no reason to expect that he will have a similar career arc as Jordan. That doesn't make him a worse player, but the league today isn't what it was 15-20 years ago. Take nothing for granted.
