I love Beas, but seriously guys, this is the 3rd or fourth topic on him.

Some of you should do like me, and realize, that when the playoffs come around (EC finals and Finals) spobot isn't gonna play him any meaningful minutes. When push comes to shove, when the game is on the line, Beasley will be on the bench.

Disabled Sports - you make some good points. good analysis. But I don't see Beas ever replacing Wade's role, the gap is not just in talent but mostly in leadership and intangibles. But he could be a good third option down the line IF he keeps working on his weaknesses.

I swear Beasley is one of the most loved players in the NBA considering his limited success in his career. I think it's because he just gives you the impression he's just a real dude, he doesn't act like a millionaire star. he's just a dude like most of us who happens to have a lot of talent. He's just a guy you want to root for, there's a shyness and good heartedness about him that you can tell is genuine.

i believe if you give him 30 mins he can replace this version of wade talent wise not leadership he can give the heat about 18.0 PPG

Oh definitely. I totally agree Beasley can score 18 PPG if given enough playing time, the kid is talented enough to be the second best scorer on a playoff team.
But Im not sure if he can handle such a big role in a tough playoff series when all the pressure is on him? can he play 30 minutes a game and not hurt you on the defensive side? Im not sure about that.
It's really to early to tell. He's only 24YO and still developing as a player and as a person.

Big Beas fan too here but yeah, if he ever sniffs Spo's rotation in the playoffs, I'm not expecting him to play much. Maybe some semi-heavy minutes til the 2nd rd but if we get to the ECF and Indy does too, I doubt he plays that much. Even doubt it more in the Finals. But we'll see.

I'm praying he has at least this one playoff game where he totally beasts it up and contributes to a huge Heat win. Prove me right, Beas. :)

I'm glad you don't.

Hey disabled sports I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying, Beas may never be the leader or defender Wade is but he could very well become the go to scorer behind lebron and bosh once Wade declines more.

I don't find this topic promising or reassuring. But whatever happens happens, doubt this season will be made or broken by Beasley, but I could see him making an impact.

He could be a buffer in the playoffs to the annual Wade knee injury. I think he's a problem for Indiana for instance, because if he's out there with Lebron, there's no one on the Pacers who can guard him other than PG. And if David West is going to light us up anyways offensively--at least Beasley would give him something to think about on the other end.

If Beasley is our key we are in trouble.

I think of Beasley as an x factor on this team. Come playoffs i have blind faith in Lebron, Wade no idea which version will show up, Bosh depending on his confidence no idea what he will bring.

You make some valid points however in the scheme of things the most important pieces for our three peat is:

1. Wade´s right knee
2. Wade´s left knee
3. Team overall health
4. Greg Oden
5. Beasley to provide scoring punch of the bench.

Beas is or was a pothead and even though he has messed up and swandered his talents let not make no mistake that He is one of the more talented guys to enter the league. He tore up college and the junior team usa international play. He certainly can be an X-factor and put opposing defenders in trouble. Indiana wants to game plan for Lebron. They do not want to game plan for Lebron and Beasley crashing the paint with an unarguable shot from Bosh on the wing. Disabled made a good point about giving Wade the Duncan treatment and letting him have reduced minutes in the regular season so he is fresh in the playoffs.

I like how we have slowly used Beasley so far this year. I like that he has played outside and sometimes exclusively inside. Just another weapon on this Heat team. Whether we use him or not we are a better team right now having him at least on the roster.
