Why is our Heat the team to go to 4 straight Finals?

That feat hasnt been done since the 80's by the freakin stacked Lakers.
I find it hard to believe that this team coasting and playing like ass is going to be the team that is going to do it especially considering were not going to have HCA against the Pacers this time.
I know I sound pessimistic but damn you cant blame me when the 1985 Lakers which was the last team to get to the Finals 4 times in a row won 62 games and our Heat dont look nothing of that nature.
I hope I'm wrong

Or it could be a tired thing too considering Lebron just said that they may be tired.
Lebron went to to the Olympics in 2012 which is also more miles on our best player so damn that stuff could really add up.

LeBron's played like 4 seasons worth of games in 3 years. It's pretty ridiculous, but that's why I don't get worried when he coasts. He's gonna go 110% in the playoffs like he always does and that's really what matters.

Physical and mental fatigue is finally catching up with this team. It's hard to stay motivated during the regular season when you've been to the Finals for 3 straight years. When you look at the overall age of the team it's really not surprising... Ray is old. Battier is old. UD is old. Lewis is old. Hell even Wade/Birdman's athletic prime years are way behind them. This team is in dire need of some young legs.
But regardless we still have a great shot at the Finals since we're still head and shoulders above everyone else in the East not named Indiana. ECF are gonna be a dog fight though. It was a dog fight in 2012, it was a dog fight in 2013, and it's gonna be a dog fight in 2014.

Actually our team is that good that it can coast lol. Indiana is a few games ahead of us and they are playing their hearts out.

That always seems to be the story though, we are that good to coast blah blah blah then bam!
The Shaq and Kobe Lakers thought they could coast then got beat by the Spurs in 03, word is Jordan was too tired to try to 4 peat(his father passing also made the choice to retire easier), Lakers got swept in 2011 with Gasol looking like he had nothing left in the tank, I mean damn our Heat look like history repeating itself.

Aiolos you need to chill and look at the facts:
1) Despite our terrible play recently we're still a top 5 team in the NBA record wise, which is a good sign since we haven't hit our stride yet like we normally do every year.
2) We're still beating good teams while losing to bad teams which shows that the team is struggling with motivation/effort more than anything. Talent wise we're still the team to beat when playing to our potential.
3) No matter how bad things get during the regular season we're still a lock for the ECF barring injury.
4) It's still early in the season. If we still look like this 2/3rds into the season THEN we should start to be worried.

We have LeBron and they do not.
Right now were being out-coached and out hustled.
Playoffs, LeBron does everything and we over come all our short comings; Size and Coaching

We really only have to beat one team to get back to the finals this year. I think everything about how we're playing this season is correct so far. If we can get to the Pacers with a healthy Wade a healthy bosh, a healthy Oden, Michael Beasley integrated into the rotation, and Lebron not completely gassed...we're more than ready to take them.
Meanwhile the Pacers are going balls out in the regular season. Maybe they'll be the ones injured and tired by the time they get to us this year?
I also like not having homecourt against them, I like having the chance to steal the first two games and make it a short series.

The only thing you need to hope for is for LeBron to be healthy. The regular season is a time where star players take games off and sub par teams/players look to take out the top dogs to give there fan base hope. You look at the attandance records for this year and every where the HEAT play, the arena is packed and its that teams Super Bowl. Its hard for LeBron/Wade/Bosh to care every game. To me, Its about coaching right now. During these down times, we need a coach to find the right combination, find the right player and ride the hot hands to victory. SpoBot refuses to adjust during games or ride the hot hand or play those who seems to be deserving of minutes. This year how many times has a role player gone off? This year when Beasley or Mario are on fire, have they played 35-40 minutes or played there normal minutes? Nope! He sticks to his guns and doesn't adjust. Spo knows who is coming in and at what time in the game. It doesn't matter what happens on the court, he rides that rotation and adjusts a few games later. Thats the difference between winning a few games vs. teams that are trying harder than you. Come playoffs, BIG 3 care, they play 42 minutes which makes Spo's dumb rotation worthless as its not enough time to make an impact on the game from a coachign stand point. Look at Lewis numbers and look at minutes? Look at Beasley and look at minutes? Look at UD right now and look at minutes?

coasting is fine, but the one thing that worries me is LeBron's minutes. I know a lot of us understood he was getting eased in to the season when spo had him playing 35 minutes a game in the first month of the season.
in the last 11 games, however, LeBron has been playing 40.5 minutes a game. the heat are 6-5 in those games.
between the injuries we've been having, the poor play of allen/battier/haslem/etc. LeBron is carrying a huge load and it's still a month away from the all star break. they might not be the hardest minutes he's playing but you can tell when the team is down (which they've been frequently recently) he really pushes himself to get the team back. those kinds of effort take a toll.
I think that is part of the reason the heat's defense has been atrocious recently. it's a highly effective defense when it's executed at high intensity. when they're lackadaisical because they're tired/conserving energy they make the wizards look like an all star team.
this team just doesn't look like it has its second gear right now. the fact that the four days of rest before the wizards game didn't seem to change that is a little unsettling.
