Irving...lol
you could also rant about Melo due to the lack of team success

in the West we have Griffin who isn't deserving of the spot.
LMAs mid range game is way more impactful than his highlight dunks every once in a while. think about how much Bosh spaces the floor for us.
I'd also debate Kevin Loves selection... amazing numbers, but his team is never going to the playoffs (even with a pretty good starting 5)

Melo and Love are special cases.
back in the days you needed team success to get the all-star nod. nowadays it's just a popularity contest. Melo plays in the biggest market and Love is in all those commercials (even in onkel drews video).
imho it's sad that the meaning of this event/honor shifted. makes it harder to compare past players based on accolades to todays guys.

It was annoying how kenny asked if anyone from new york deserved to be there and chuck said "other than melo". When I think kenny was meaning melo himself.

Uhh melo's been the only thing from that being the milwaukee knicks but I think he should have been a reserve if it was merit based

Well, we all know that the starters get voted in on popularity so we don't have to focus on that. Griffin is way more fun to watch than LMA. The ASG should be exciting and that's why its determined by a fan vote. Don't count it as a truthful representation of a guy's worth if he isn't the starter. If that was the case, then Wade would be hardpressed to be a starter as he's missed a lot of games, and has several stinkers tossed in due to his balky knee.
