Trade Deadline Speculation

Post#1 » by EMPIRE196 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 7:54 am

OK guys so who of the below is a realistic chance to join the team before the deadline.

From numerous Heat blogs, these players below have come up in discussion.

For us to grab one of these players we would have to trade Cole plus extras..

Aaron Affalo - salary for next year could cost Arison too much..?
Evan Turner
Jameer Nelson - could expect a buyout from Magic?
Caron Butler -
Trevor Ariza - avg 30min for Wizards so likely not avaialble

Only one realistic on your list is Butler and he's not going to make us better.

Yeah someone said that in the other forum too - Could it be possible though?

I think id be happy having him just for defence if we couldn't get anything else.

Not getting any of those - we don't have the assets, or contracts, to deal for any of them.

Caron is the only one likely to get bought out, so he would be most likely to be on our team, after the deadline.

Tuff Juice is my boy but I have a hard time seeing how or where he could contribute on this team. His defense is not close to what it was in his glory years and he can't really stroke it from deep although he will continue to jack it up.

Do we have any picks or Nah?
Nuggets need to keep losing so they are more likely to give up Kenneth Faried

None of these guys would make much of a difference. We need a center.

We got a CENTER, but the only center I could think of that can easily adapt to what we are doing on defense(hard trap and recover) is in a suit

We have LeBron for Melo, MKG plays good enough defense to give LeBron a breather on tough assignments. And the kid will only get better defensively

We have one center who is a injury risk and can only play 15 mins a game at max. We need another center then we will be set. Our defensive system is garbage, If we had someone big down there protecting the paint we would not need to cram all of our defenders in the paint and then have them try to recover to the outside, which is the reason teams always destroy us from downtown with good ball movement like OKC yesterday or the Spurs/Mavs in the finals. It is also the reason our rebounding is trash.

Ariza is someone I'd sign in the offseason to replace Battier if he retires.

Miami has to do a better job at seeking out young talent. I swear the OKC kills them in that area. we always pick up old dudes who used to be good or kinda good and got just a little left in the tank. When did we last pick up a young guy with potential who turned out to be something?
