Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine · 13m
Sacramento will receive cash only -- no picks -- in trade for Roger Mason with Miami. Mason will be waived. @KBergCBS first reported deal

Heat is expected to receive a highly protected SAC second-round pick to complete the swap for Mason that will most likely never be conveyed

====

Wait for March 1.

damn, well at least they kept him long enough to guarantee his contract. i remember hearing that caron might get bought out before but who knows. would be nice. he's had some decent games this year.

maybe they pick up camby if no one else is available. just for insurance. ugh.

guy was a net negative on the court, I fully believe we would have won two more games without his bad defense and bricking 3's

I guess they feel Toney Douglas is better. He is at least younger and more athletic.

I didnt see this coming. Riley, as always, is a master at his craft. Get rid of Mason without having to pay him an extra cent.

Now the problem for me is, is this a precursor to another trade such as a TPE for Morrow? Or are the Heat going to wait for waivers?

Cant argue with adding another shooter, 3pt shooting usually is the catalyst that opens up our game.

I'd like to have Caron back... but does he have anything left in the tank? We already have two rotation players in Ray and Shane with old ass legs, we don't need a third.

Does he have anything left in the tank and can he provided consistent outside shooting to space the floor?

I think one advantage, if Caron still can play effective defense, is he can slide in the 4 spot when we go small and alleviate some of the duties off of Battier.

I thought Caron was done but he dropped 21 points last night and has had a 30 and 38pt games this season too. He still has some life in him.

they seem to be ok with Oden and Bird.....which im fine with. But our rebounding has been awful. Its a problem. And i rly dont see a trade coming up. Its buyout or bust.
