According to Forbes data his total earnings for his career are 443.2 million, which 130.6 million is from salary and 312.6 million is from endorsements. I think I read somewhere that his 2014 endorsements are estimated to be 45 million which would make his 2014 income at around 64 million including NBA salary. By the end of 2014 he would have earned around 507 million dollars total.

columns: nba salary + endorsements= total income

2003: 4.000 17.1 21.1
2004: 4.300 18.6 22.9
2005: 4.600 21.4 26.0
2006: 5.800 21.2 27.0
2007: 13.00 25.0 38.0
2008: 14.40 25.6 40.0
2019: 15.80 27.2 43.0
2010: 14.50 33.5 48.0
2011: 16.00 40.0 56.0
2012: 17.50 41.0 60.0
2013: 19.10 42.0 61.1

At around the time of the decision in 2010 Lebron had made a total of 218 million dollars in his career up to that point. When he makes his next decision this summer with his career earnings of 500 million and hundreds of more millions of dollars to come I can't help but think he won't really care about an extra 5 million dollars in NBA salary, especially since rings= more endorsement money and his goal is to be the best ever and 7+ rings seals that. Just a guess but I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron willingly took a Duncan type contract at around 10 million a year.

Personally, after earning 500 million dollars and probably with 500+ more million to come I'd play for practically nothing to save the team cap room...it's all about the rings

He's not signing for 10M!!!!

Im sure he'll give us a friendly deal (considering hes the best player on the planet). But he not going to look like a pawn, and take crap money for his caliber play.

Lebron deserves the max and then some much much more some. And if he wants the max then you give him te max period and i would gladly give it to him. Bosh and wade should take less but knowing lebron he will leave some cash on the table no doubt

This is so silly, just because he wants to win you think he would even consider 10mil? At the end of the day winning is the important, but he is also trying to become the next billionaire athlete. So if he wants the max he can demand it and then some, but it´s very plausible he shaves a couple mil of the max to maintain the teams flexibility and winning ways.

Just realize KG has earned more than 300mil+ in career earnings, we´re talking about the same guy who cried on national television stating he wants to win so bad.

I'm not saying you don't offer him the max. Of course you offer him the max I never said otherwise. I am just saying he will probably shave off a few million, but who knows maybe even more.

People need to stop talking out of others pockets, suggesting what someone should take, what discounts they should give...

I Strongly disagree with ANY income suggestions for people.....when you take a pay cut, then talk about others taking pay cuts...He deserves whatever he asks for....

Forbes is almost always wrong about the earnings and net worth. They only have it right about 2% of the their entire list that they forecast.

Ideally LeBron signs for the veteran minimum and becomes the most underpaid employee in the history of civilization.

But if he wants a Clayton Kershaw type of contract from us thats okay too.

It's not just about the money for him, it's about public perception. Taking too little will look funny, not in a good way. I believe he'll take a sizeable discount, hard to know exactly how much but If I had to guess I think he might take 16-17 Mil instead of the maximum 20 he's allowed to get under the CBA. Also depends on Wade and Bosh, and Riley's plans for the roster..im not worried about it, things will sort themselves out, we're in good hands.

Yep, pretty much. Stop playing around - he deserves it. Unless he agrees to less.

Lebron is in his prime and he deserves his max. Tim Duncan took 10 mil because he is passed his prime man, it is not the same. At that age you can afford to do something like that and it entices younger players to join and gives cap room

WADE is the one who needs a pay cut with his knee issues.

Lebron Max
Wade like 15mil
Bosh 17mil

Something like that is what I would hope for

Lebron if he wanted a pay cut, 18mil a year would be nice. But he deserves the max. Do you not see how disoriented this team is without him? Heat need to do everything they can to keep the best player in basketball and do not low ball this dude. He can sign anywhere he wants for the same price too. Entering a bigger market would make him even richer like the Lakers or Clips (mostly lakers), so give him what he has earned.
That would make him the billionaire athlete he wants to become, so don't test him lol. Winning will also make him more richer but if he did that in a bigger market? He will make it rain

I just mention LA because if Lebron were to leave us, it's for a place with warm weather too. Clips with Lebron win a title easily.

My gut instincts says he stays in Miami though, maybe even retire as a Heatle.

We will offer LeBron the max. Plain and simple. From there, he can decide to take less or not.

Let the man make his own financial decision.

I agree. This isn't like Kobe where the franchise is throwing an exorbitant amount of money at an uncertain situation. The Lakers threw $40 million at someone that wasn't even back yet from an torn achilles tendon. We're throwing max money at someone in the midst of his prime. It's perfectly justified. I wouldn't be mad at LeBron taking max money as he deserves it. It's Bosh and Wade that I'm concerned about.

Regardless of efficiency, LeBron is the only player that can carry this HEAT team during games. Bosh hits big shots from time to time without a doubt, but neither he or Wade should receive max money this offseason in my personal opinion. I've seen this team with just Wade and Bosh playing. Neither give me the impression of a max contract next summer. I'm not throwing max money at someone who could very well be retired in 2/3 years because of his knees.

I don't think the premise of this post is what the Heat will offer. Riley and Ellsberg will have several roster proposals with the salary cap. Only Norris Cole potentially is on the salary cap. Riley himself has said that LeBron is the smartest player he has worked with, and that is why he will be the greatest of all time. It would not surprise me if LeBron has his own ideas. LeBron realizes that he can't do it on his own. The Heat offer the most roster flexibility when he opts out and that is certainly is attractive situation. The Big 3 say they value winning. I hope it's true.
