There's something to be said about getting into rhythm for the stretch run, but the team looks tired and old out there. Anybody think that Miami should concede the 1st seed and get some rest for their stars and older players?

PS: As is, the 2nd seed is likely going to give the easier road to the ECF. Tor is likely to stay as the 3rd seed, BK/Chi will likely be the 4/5 seeds. Playing only 1 of Indy/Chi/BK would be pretty amazing.

Wednesday will be the answer. If we win in Indy, then only 1.5 back and motivated to take them down because of the psychological advantage. If not, punting rest of regular season and putting Lebron on every other game plan. I can see a future starting five of Oden, Beasley, Douglas, Jones and Lewis.

With the way we're playing, we're fixing to get slaughtered down there. Then again, this just might be the wakeup game we need to explode into the postseason like a juggernaut.

Maybe this game will be just like the home game vs. Detroit back in 2006 when Wade led us back from [I believe] 17 down to win it. From that point on, it was BAD NEWS FOR THE REST OF THE LEAGUE, as Zaslow would say.

Time for everyone to show up like how Patrick Beverly played against us.

I think the team is more focused on regaining momentum than resting. That's the only reason I see for playing LeBron 40+ minutes every game.

My perspective as a GSW fan looking in is that your team isn't so much tired as it disinterested. The East is simply awful and the Heat know they can put it on cruise control the rest of the season and then turn on the switch once the playoffs start.

The big question is can they turn that switch on and regain their previous dominance? I think they'll do it and easily fly through the East on their way to the NBA championship series.

I hope so! I'm ok with the second seed, seems to be the easiest route.

Indiana doesn't look like anything we should fear, we could play them in Russia and still win in 5-6.

It's time to shut it down, also, time to force feed Beasley 30+ min a night, see if he can finally get some consistency going. It's vital, not only for this season, but going forward. Gotta see if we are resigning him.

My friend, "conspiracy" guy lol, believes Spo is instructed to not let Beasley play himself into a bigger contract from another team, pushing him out of our price range. I usually am not up for lil inner conspiracy plans, but to me that makes sense.

We've never feared indiana. They got better every year while we had the same roster with the adition of 1 2 pieces.

This team aint feared nothing beside themselfs.

When was the last time we have seen Miami beat down on an opponent? I cant remember, and im sure that doesnt sit well with the Heat either. They need to gain that spark of playing tenacious, non relenting basketball. They need to stop playing sloppy, WAY to many turnovers, thats not Miami Heat basketball.

This is a nice stretch for Miami, two big games against Portland and Indiana, and a run of lower level competition (5 out of next 6 against non playoff teams). They need to make a run now and pull off some quality wins.

Keep in mind that this would be the first season that we won't have the HCA in both the East Conference and the Finals!
Can this team make it to win vs Indiana and SA/OKC/Clippers without HCA?!

If they lose on Wednesday I think the answer is obvious.

I really do hope Lebron gets some rest. Battier too, though at this point I think he might just be totally shot. We rode him till he broke.

About Lebron, I don't think it's any coincidence his best run of the season came after the all star break and that broken nose when he only had a couple games over the course of a few weeks.

I think a key will be finishing those first couple of series quickly and without much emotional and physical expenditure. Really hope they can matchup with Toronto/Washington in the second round.

I agree with you. This is more about focus and interest than physical exhaustion. The big problem is that when you play with that type of attitude for a long time, all those bad things become habits and it has finally caught up to Miami. We are talking about defensive lapses that we saw back in December and have not been corrected since.

Sure when there is motivation the Heat can put the Thunder, Rockets and Grizzlies away with that tough hard nose defense we are used to seeing. Right now, it is about finding that focus and energy to finish up the season and enter the playoffs with the right mentality.

It is quite difficult to ask a team that can beat anybody, anytime, to play a long 82 games that in essence are meaningless - but required - to reach their goal. The Heat will always be judged by their playoffs performance. The main problem I see is the bad habits that were created. It is time to dig and snap out of it and get some momentum into the playoffs.

Tonight against the Blazers could be good start going into Wednesday's matchup with the Pacers. Let's hope we knock some fools out the rest of the season.

Nah that's pointless. Half of the people on this roster wasn't even on that 10-11 Heat team that loss in the Finals to Dallas. The only people that are still on this team that loss to the Mavs in the Finals are LeBron, Wade (who's not playing tonight), Bosh, Rio, James Jones & UD plus they've won 2 straight championships after that Finals loss so that won't do anything to motivate them

To be honest, from my perspective, for the past few weeks I can honestly say that outside of the Spurs just straight up out playing us in every way, that we've really been beating ourselves. The effort & mental focus just isn't there. We're just playing lifeless right now. We could easily snatch the #1 seed away from Indiana but I feel like the players really don't care about getting HCA

Yep, Wade resting all the time while Lebron plays through Back spasms, sprained ankle etc. I can't even remember the last time Bosh didn't play. Oh well, keep fighting for that 1 seed smh.
