Hi, everyone, new guy here, non native English speaker from Europe. I've been on this board for more than a year, normally i just like to read threads, but after yesterday's 4 straight loss to NETS this season, I am too sick to keep calm and quiet.

Double point guards, 3 guards with Allen at SF are the worst lineup ever against big tough team like Nets and Indy. SPOBOT is so obsessed with small lineup, I just don't get it.
How many times have you seen Rio or Cole or Allen got murdered by strong/tall perimeter players like Joe Johnson , Paul Pierce, Lance Stevenson etc? I just don't get it, with LBJ plays like a point forward, why the fxxk do you need 2 overconfident point guards with mediocre BB IQ, who turn the ball over and over, even struggles at the FT line? So called "pace and space" "position-less basketball" simply does not work well against certain teams.

Why is SPO so afraid to go with FULL BIG lineup? Last time i recall, during the home game against Indy this year earlier, A non point guard lineup with wade allen lebron bosh birdman, just fxxked Pacer in the last 3-5 minutes after trailing down the whole game. And during some stretch of last night's game(2nd quarter?) another lineup with cole allen lewis bosh birdman also got some results, yet after heat regained the lead, guest what? small ball + double point guards again.

The big 3 core is getting older, wade is breaking down, supporting cast is about to retire. The whole team can't just simply forcing turnovers and relying on fast breaks 3PT . People would argue that small ball brought 2 back to back champions, but there have to be some changes, at least adjustments. JJ as a SG, Beasley as 2nd unit SF sounds not that far-fetched, does it?

After 3 years, almost every elite team has figured out how to deal with the HEAT, yet SPO still has no clue how to deal with BIG TOUGH team / zone defense except rely on his superstar. Lebron bailed him out time and time again, he almost did it last night, yet all SPO could say is " what can you do? " "It's not my job". For Christ sake, great coaches like Phil and Pop would've been furious after their stars got mocked, it would not change the call, but at least using the media to put pressure on the referee to gain advatages in the long run, and show your franchise player that you get his back.

SPO is just another mike brown, who might be dedicated to their job, but above average at best. If Lebron leaves this summer or next, which seems quite possible to me, it's on SPO.

PS: Why does SPO like to call timeout after trailing by 5+ points? why the fxxk can't he do that when the game is tied?

SPO has gone from small to extra small

He probably wanted to get rid of MM the most. He wanted no part of a tall SG.

at this point he is not the coach of this team for me. our coach is lebron. if we threepeat, we will thanks to our best player and coach at the same time, lbj

I think these two have been in a serious shooting slump, add to that their decision making was always sporadic. Out of 20 5 man lineups Chalmers/Cole combo is only 16th in mins, so its still pretty fresh. I'm curious if this is because Wade is missing or will the Heat go real small in the playoffs at a point Cole/Chalmers/Wade/Bron/big. Also Chalmers/cole lineup is 7wins and 7 losses….not so good but they are slumping

I want young and athletic backup wings next season. Ennis fits the mold, so I hope he's ready.

SPOBOT might play him more or less as a stretch 4 like Shane. He tried that with Beasley earlier this season.

For some unknown reasons, SPO is so afraid to go full BIG especially for back court. To me, against slow-paced but disciplined team like NETS who has tall/strong yet relatively slow/less athletic guards like 6'7 Joe Johnson + 6'3 D.Williams + 6'7 Livinston + 6'6 anderson, Heat needs SIZE more than QUICKNESS. Coz our usual defense strategy "Trap" did not work well against them, they could simply throw the ball above the heads of our small guards, use size and weight to go post / mismatch and shoot in our faces without any bother, and more important as veteren with higher bbIQ, they knew how to limit turnovers.

I 100% agree with you, guys like Ennis and Liggins are much needed now for this team. But still, I don't think SPO would play them properly and develop them like POP did for Leonards / Green. God, he just like to go smaller and smaller, and can tolerate simply every stupid moves RIO/COLE/DOUGLAS made while ignoring JJ and much more talented Beasley.

It seems guys like Jason Kidd, Paul Pierce and KG understands Lebron's strength and weakness even much better than SPO.

Because he's a moron, plain and simple. If we meet BK in the playoffs then expect a LONG grueling series if Spo doesn't adjust. Kidd is just employing the same scheme as Carlisie did in '11. Allowing his pgs to get ''trapped" and then swinging it which kept leading to an open basket.

This isn't Chicago where their only source of offense is through one player ala Rose. Meaning that if you shut down Rose then you've won the game, no brooklyn has MULTIPLE scoring options. They're much more geared to beat the Heat than the Pacers.

It's because our offense demands it. This offense is designed for two dominant perimeter players who are dangerous in pick and rolls and on penetrations. That's what triggers a lot for us. If that's not present, we won't create good shots and will rely on hero ball. Look at most of our sets, almost all of them start with some pick and roll/pop situation on the perimeter. Since none of our other perimeter players can really be dangerous in those situations because they lack the ball handling and driving skills, we need others to fill that gap, hence why he plays Cole and Chalmers. That's why, in the offseason, we should look to pick up a guy a la Patty Mills. We need another ball handler on the team, especially if Wade continues to miss games.

I think (hope) this is the case. If we had a more athletic wing behind Wade, who is pushing for bigger minutes then I don't think we'd see much of the Cole/Rio line-ups.
