Shane Battier takes a shot at Coach Spo?

Video of Shane Battier in shootaround today before the Brooklyn game and he says that he's saying this in the nicest way possible "Coach Spo needs to do more coaching in the heat of the battle instead of the heat of practice".

As little reconition as Jason Kidd receives as a coach, in the 4 games we've played against the Nets, I saw Kidd taking advantage of Spo's usual habit of sticking with the plan and taking advantage of mismatches. To be quite honest, Jason Kidd has out couched Spo in the regular season but I'm fairly confident Spo will be ready now in the playoffs.

Here's the link of the video, let me know what you guys think Battier was trying to say and was he taking a shot at him?

It's the first question of the video by the way.

He's not taking a shot at Spo, he's simply saying that they're ready to play and are tired of practicing ("ready to hear Spo coach in a game instead of practice")

The way Spo is using the totality of the roster so far is kind of amazing. It's also keeping Haslem and Battier rested so they can have the most impact when they do play. If we beat the Nets and then play the Pacers or Wizards, Haslem will be ready to go.

Insert Battier in the lineup was a smart move but an obvious move. Should we congratulate an NBA player when they make a layup or a jumper? No because that's what is expected of them. Spo did what he had to do and anything else should be questioned. UD was needed vs. Big Al, Battier on Joe Johnson makes sense for this series.

LOL. You just have to be confrontational. Can never just give credit to YOUR teams coach.

Yea it's a bit sad now. I like GT3 but over the past few weeks he's kind of sounding like a bitter old man. HIF didn't start anything. I mean also GT3 was the main one telling us that we need to "fear" the Nets so um yea...
