Bosh- I dont bang anymore

Post#1 » by Dupas » Sun May 25, 2014 3:31 pm

Seriously..who is this guy thinking? I mean , even last game wade had bosh wide open and chose to no pass to him.
Stop thinking you are 6,2 bro..you are 6,11 play like it. Even Dirk still bangs sometimes.
If hes becaming a 3 and D guy i hope riley gives him the money that he deservers. Something around 7M a year. And thats too much.
Whats your insight about this? I like bosh but cmon..this is becoming such a noncense :banghead:

I have a feeling that the Heat organization knows Bosh's true worth to the team  and it might be higher than 7 mil but I don't have any insider info.

My only beef with Bosh is that he doesn't look like he is busting his butt out there when everyone else is.. maybe it's just the perception thing... he just looks too casual to me at times...

I don't mind him not banging anymore.. he is 30 pounds lighter than LeBron after all.. but I want to see more tangible effort on post defense, rebounding, and attacking the basket.. somewhere around there. If he is truly tired of doing all those things.. maybe he is overpaid.. but I don't think he is necessarily saying that.

He has good footwork, but he's just not strong enough to secure the ball when he post up. He gets his pockets picked too easily. There's no excuses for a 6'11" PF not being able to contribute for his team on the offensive end. Stop shooting 3's all time and cut to the basket a bit more.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

After 4 years with Bosh here, and I'm still struggling to define who exactly he is as a player on this team.

I know how important he is to our play, with the spacing he provides and good defense (as long he doesn't need to guard big Centers, or be a full on rim protector, or rebound).

He's a great guy and good player, But I can't help but wonder if he's happy with the role we give him, and if that role is worth Max money contract going forward. It just seems forced at times. I don't have a problem if we give another Max contract because team success showed we can make it work, but If all he's doing here is shot open jumpers then..Couldn't Ryan Anderson do pretty much the same (actually he's a better shooter) for less the half the money? Bosh is a much better player, but the way we play him...he doesn't look like it for most of the time.

It's really a strange dynamic. We're underutilizing the hell out of him, but we're still winning as a team. So maybe that's all that matters?

Ideally, I think the solution might be to just stay the course. by that I mean - keep encouraging him to continue his transformation to become the black Dirk Nowitzki.

Just Hope he keeps improving his 3 point shot and becomes more consistent in general. Make him a full time big stretch PF. Then bring a real Center that likes to bang next to him. That's what worked for Dallas - Dirk was soft so they brought Chandler to be the defensive anchor and rebounder and they won it all.

I think Chris knows he's not being put in a position to look great, but he takes it because he likes the guys, the team and winning is more important to him. You've got to respect him for that. It's a real sacrifice.

It's time for us the compliment the adjustment he's making and adjust the roster, specifically the Big Centers and Power Forwards we need to add that could play next to him in the front line. 1 ageing Birdman isn't enough. And I think if we played a Taj Gibson/Tyson Chandler next to Chris, he would look much much Better.
Draft some **** real bigs already.

Take less money and I'll be fine with his role. He's not no 20mill guy on THIS team and if u think he is, you need to seek help.

Hate to be that guy but if he isn't going in the low post anymore his pay should be cut. I know he is a huge part of the team, but now he will be a big guy shooting 3's more and taking even more jumpshots...

We need a rebounder and Bosh hasn't been that guy yet.

I wish he didn't say this publicly though, because other teams now don't have to worry about Bosh in the post. When Bosh is attacking in the post, he can get some calls. Though, he does spread the floor and make the other teams Center/PF come out to the perimeter. But I think any player can do that these days, and his shot going in isn't as high as a wing player.

he is asked to play that way in this system. it's not fair to expect him to play like the offense runs through him because it doesn't. this team works because everyone knows their role, including Bosh. want to pay him $7M/yr? Watch him go somewhere else for max and go back to doing what he did as a #1 option. riley knows this better than anyone, he knows he's not overpaying Bosh.

Man, Chris Bosh sure will have a tough decision on whether he wants to opt out of a contract that has $42.7M over two years left on it.

Chris Bosh 3-pointers could be game-changer for Heat

Jason Lieser
Palm Beach Post | Heat Zone
February 23, 2014

Erik Spoelstra on whether the team envisioned this aspect of Bosh’s game when they pursued him as a free agent in 2010:

“I don’t even know back then if I was even thinking in that regard. That’s how much we’ve changed. I’d be surprised if I was even thinking like that. I was thinking way more conventional. He didn’t play that way at all, and initially the way we were using our guys was very conventional, which didn’t work with this group when you put all of them together at the same time.”

Spoelstra on what Bosh 3-pointers add to the offense:

“Each year, we’ve become a lot more comfortable with him playing on the perimeter, but he’s also reinvented himself after 10 years in this league for the necessity of this team. It’s great for a guy to have that understanding and willingness to do that. Early on, we knew that would open the door to a flood of criticism. What is he doing out there? What is a big man doing shooting 3s? He’s not the first big guy to shoot 3s, and spacing is critical for this team.

“We have even more versatility where we can play big without it affecting our space. We get the benefits of that, where we didn’t necessarily have that before. Will he shoot 4 of 9 every time? I don’t know. But he’s taking the right ones, not pick-and-flair threes or transition 3s. He’s been an incredibly accurate shooter from 18 feet for a long time and it just took a little bit extra work to extend that range.”

Spoelstra on whether Bosh gets the green light like Shane Battier and Ray Allen:

“No. Not that type of green light. Shane could come across halfcourt and launch one and I would clap… Chris has so many more– That’s why it’s so challenging and the average eye might not see it. He has a lot on his plate. He really does. He has to change the way he plays during the course of the game depending on where he is and who he’s playing with. It takes a highly intelligent individual and somebody who is willing to do that. There are a lot of players that wouldn’t be willing to do that. They would become confused enough where there would be frustration and they would stop doing it, but Chris gets it. He understands what this team needs.”

Heat should explore a package for Asik during the summer using Bosh. After you can pick up a stretch four like Frye or something cause there's definitely gonna have to be retooling.
