Adjust Paul George's minutes to LeBron's (Game 5)

I argued with my brother-in-law about this. He's a Heat fan, but he'll side with the Haters because he's one of those that thinks the Heat must overcome playing 5-on-8 every game. He said the 5 fouls on LeBron had no effect because the Heat went up by 11 without him, so I argued "what if Paul George had LeBron's minutes?" I thought about it when I got home and I did some math. Just thought I'd share it with you guys.

Final Score: 93-90

Paul George had 37pts in 40 minutes. That's .925pts per minutes.

Now, imagine if he had LeBron's minutes (24) due to foul trouble: .925 x 24 = 22.2pts (round off to 22)

37 (actual pts) - 22 (pts for minutes adjusted) = 15pt differential

Now, let's adjust Indy's score for George's adjusted score: 93pts (Indy) - 15pts (diff) = 78pts

End result: Miami wins by 12, 90-78

Now, imagine LeBron just scored a measly 20pts, by his standards, because he didn't have to worry about foul trouble and could actually find his rhythm. He scored 7pts, so the differential is 13.

End result: Miami wins by 25, 103-78.

Well, Lewis and Ray might not have gotten there shots with James in so you might have to deduct some points. But the point is still valid: George probably wouldn't have gotten hot if he were yanked out of the game after picking up all those fouls. And everything about about our team is better with James in there. It was just buckshot.

Even if you don't adjust LBJ's minutes, it's a 12pt Heat win. The game was rigged with a capital RIGGED.

No way we lose if James plays 40 minutes. That was just garbage. We need Bird back for the next game to help close this. Still so **** pissed about this.

Yes, I'd bet my bottom dollar that LeBron James could score 4pts if you give him a few more minutes, thus sealing the win.

Having said all that he still went 2-10, so we could also say if he only hit 40% we would have won.

3 of those missed shots led to 6 pts (2 airball assists, 2 freethrows on a fouled 3 after just missing and getting a rebound). so he would have had to go 7 for 10

I think the pacers would do worse than your projection if the pacers played 16 minutes with 4 players on the floor
