Chalmers, Ray, Lebron, Shart, Jermaine?

If every player is in their NBA prime (not heat prime)...you HAVE to go lebron and shaq. Then spread the rest out with 2 2 dollars and a 1 dollar. I dont think any 3 dollar option is worth it. Rashard gives you the stretch 4 lebron needs. Mike miller the 3 point shooting. Then eddie house can shoot 3s and guard the point ok.

Light on d but you have shaq and lebron so itll still be pretty good. DOMINANT offense.

Id be interested in a shaq ilgauskas combo too.

Or you could go battier haslem for d instead of miller lewis (also makes sense).

See. I think if you go with Lebron and shooters you don't need shaq. I'd pick Zo over shaq then and get a better shooter with the cash. The defense would be awesome.

I love these challenges.

$2 - Chalmers (9.8 ppg, 4.9 apg, 1.6 spg, 45.4% FG, 38.5% 3pt FG, 74.2% FT)
$5 - Wade (30.2 ppg, 7.5 apg, 5 rpg, 2.2 spg, 1.3 bpg, 49.1% FG, 31.7% 3pt FG, 76.5% FT)
$5 - LeBron (26.8 ppg, 8 rpg, 7.3 apg, 1.7 spg, 56.5% FG, 40.6% 3pt FG, 75.3% FT)
$2 - Lewis (22.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 46.1% FG, 39% 3pt FG, 84.1% FT)
$1 - Seikaly (17.1 ppg, 11.8 rpg, 1.2 bpg, 48% FG, 73.5% FT)

Floor spacing (shooting), team rebounding, ball movement, good free throw shooting, halfcourt and fastbreak offense, and interior defense. Yes, even interior defense. The collective length on the floor right now is enough for team defense to make up for Seikaly being all alone in the paint. Rashard Lewis has impressed me with his man-to-man defense on burlier players. He and LeBron are versatile and can play either forward position.

I expect hell to rain down on any wing player expecting to post good numbers against that back court. Rashard Lewis spreading the floor makes it possible for Wade and James to operate in the paint, dumping it off to Seikaly whenever necessary. People sleep on Seikaly for some reason; he was a very good player for Miami during his time here. 17-11 would have landed anyone a max contract in today's league. Attacking guards beware.

The toughest decision I had to make was choosing whether or not I would replace Chalmers/Lewis with Williams/Haslem. With Wade and LeBron handling the ball on the perimeter alongside Chalmers, I realized that Williams' terrific ballhandling abilities wouldn't necessarily be needed here. Miami would have four men along the perimeter and one live wire in the paint. Defenses would have to pick their poison.

On a team like this, Lewis would have easy shots from deep all night. With Wade-James-Seikaly in the paint, he and Chalmers would have possibly their best shooting performances on a nightly basis. This team would very likely not be pushed around by potentially bigger teams. A frontline of 6'9-6'10-6'11 would be enough to contend with most teams every night, with the option of small ball depending on how much money I have to build my bench.

I thought about it. But its hard to turn down a debatably top 5 player all time (shaq was no slouch as a rim protector). This lineup would certainly also be dominant and more balanced:

Zo haslem lebron allen house

Or

Zo lewis lebron battier house

Or

Zo odom lebron majerle house


But id still take:

Shaq lewis lebron miller house

How about Zo, UD, Lebron, Thunda!!!, and Hardaway

In their prime? Thats pretty epic.

Just ridiculous shooting, dribble penetration, and probably best C of the past 2 decades. Defense shouldn't be a huge issue, but not elite. I know leaving Lebron is probably a blasphemy, but I think in a perfect world a prime Wade and Lebron just wouldn't be THAT great together. Yes I am a homer, and Wade will always be my favorite.

Hardaway and Mourning combo almost won it for the Heat so add Bron to the mix and this team is golden. Majerle does everything on the floor. I think there are better options than Haslem but he can grab whatever Mourning misses which wont be much.

without seeing your post i think this team would be the best option. Hardaway is such a game changer and thunder Dan was a machine

I like the homer lineup better, how could anybody create a lineup without a prime Wade?

my real lineup has Wade in it..... but I felt like posting this lineup for fun cause I seriously think Zo and Timmy would have gotten their rings with this team. Look at the 3pt shooting..... they would make it RAIN 3pters..... and Zo will play his elite defense down low.

It is impossible to leave prime LeBron, prime Wade, or one of prime Shaq/Zo off your team, but you can't have all three. 2006 Wade is Jordan-esque. I refuse to play.

But I guess if I have to, I'm going:

PG: House - 1
SG: Majerle - 1
SF: Battier - 3
PF: LeBron - 5
C: Shaq - 5

It kills me to leave Zo off my team, but '05 Shaq was a force of nature. Put that guy on the same team as LeBron and everyone else is wide open all game long. And Battier, Majerle, and House would destroy you from downtown. You can't leave any of those guys. The spacing would be out of control. Between prime Battier and LeBron, you've got two excellent, versatile defenders that can both take any PG-PF in the league. You've got prime Shaq locking down the paint and beasting on the boards.

And most importantly, you don't have Eddie Jones and Jamal Mashburn passing up open shots in crunch time.

It's hard to beat the Chalmers or House/ Wade/James/Lewis/Seikaly lineup. Seik was a rebounding machine with decent D and offense. At the 1 you need someone to knock down 3s and handle the ball in limited capacity, but dios mio, Prime Wade and James (and Lewis at $2). What?

Of course, this is largely dictated by my refusal to not have Dwyane and LeBron in the lineup.

You were being nice. The rules say PRIME, meaning not PRIME w/Miami. PRIME in general. House isn't a PG, but a team with LeBron and Shaq (circa 2000) is enough to win 60+. We're talking two of the greatest forces in NBA history. That's fearsome.

But is the perimeter defense what it should be? I suppose it's not as bad with Haslem and perennial DPOY Alonzo Mourning roaming the paint, but I would imagine Hardaway/Allen/Miller to be average at the very LEAST on defense. Hardaway was no slouch on D during his younger, healthier days. The Hardaway Miami got was already limited by injury. "Prime" Hardaway was putting 23.4-10-2-46.1% from the 1. Nastiness.

A team with shooters like this would be something special.

Shaq has to be in it.
