Weird rumors

Post#1 » by holden3 » Tue Jul 1, 2014 1:55 am

It doesn't make sense from what I've been hearing.

Wade and Bosh are willing to take a pay cut and recoup some of the money with longer contracts. I get that.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 mill for Bosh and $13 to 14 mill for Wade.

But Lebron wants the max(20 to 22 mill) which leave the Heat very little cap space to work with considering they still have to pay Haslem, Norris and the rookie.

All that does is save the Heat luxury tax money and allow the Heat to use the 5 mill exception and the mini level exception.

First, Lebron says the Heat need improvements and depth at all positions in order to compete for a CHIP but that can't be done if he takes the max.

Why would Wade opt out if he knew LBJ wants the max - Wade taking a big pay cut won't help clear enough space to help improve the team if that money goes back to Lebron vs quality free agents?

Also, I heard Bosh took off on vacation already overseas and won't be back for a long time. I don't recall a player ever opt out to become a free agent and taken off on vacation unless he already had a deal in place and knows what the 2 other guys are doing. Other teams can't even meet with him.

It's kind of confusing. I thought all 3 players were taking pay cuts but with Lebron getting the bigger deal out of the 3.

Listen this is just how it is

But nothing is official

Don't believe anything til it actually happens lol, or is atleast verified

There is somethings we don't know and these guys will want to keep it from the media too

Btw your question has been answered about Bosh I believe. The big 3 are giving a Riley a window to work with. While Bosh is on vacation, Riley has to work some magic. I don't see Bosh going anywhere though or Wade.

They all wanna negotiate and sign together if they like what they see

Yeah, I saw the Woj tweet which adds to the "doesn't not make sense" aspect. If the 3 are all waiting Riley to retool before signing then how can Bosh take off on vacation without a salary number he is comfortable with and Lebron asking for the max. I mean Riley can't retool if he doesn't know how much he has to retool with.

Also the reason Lebron has not schedule meetings with other teams is that his agent is the only one following the NBA rules. NBA teams can't actually talk to players or their agents until July 1st. Rich Paul already said he will take calls on behalf of Lebron on July 1st.

I know Bosh totally wants to stay in Miami, he's happy and comfortable. But I can't see him leaving on vacation unless he knows what he is going to get in terms of salary and length (otherwise, it would be smart of him to take meetings with Dallas, Houston and LA) and if Lebron is coming back for sure.

Currently, there's only 7 teams that can give Lebron the max

Heat

Lakers - he's not helping Kobe win another chip

Mavs, Suns, Jazz, 76ers and Orlando Magic.

It's possible Bosh went on vacation and will deal with this stuff when he comes back. But there was a report saying how Bosh wants 15-16mil a year, so it's also possible he already does know what he wants if that report is true

I think the Clippers and Houston can get Lebron too if they move players or do a sign and trade but that is not likely to happen at all

According to one report, Bosh is gone for a long time(like a mth). By that time most of the cap space on the contending teams will be gone.

As for Clippers and Houston, both teams would have to gut their entire team except for their 2 allstars(on each team) in order to give Lebron anywhere close to the max.

The big 3 might look to sign all at the same time. They won't do it without Bosh. Lol a month? That's weird as hell, usually they have signed on a team before July 30th. It might be 3 weeks or so, not a month :o

From an article Woj just posted.

Hmm looks like they did leave their numbers lol. Well this puts me at ease.

That's what I heard on a radio show - one of the ESPN guys was questioning how any free agent can opt out and go on vacation unless it has been already determined. I guess Bosh's agent Henry Thomas can always fax Bosh the contract and have him sign it and fax it back.

Like I said before, I don't see how Riley can retool unless he knows exactly how much cap space he has. What's his proposal to free agents? - drop his bag of rings and a picture of the big 3 and say...come to miami and take what ever is left over after the big 3 has decided how much they want?...and if Lebron wants max, there's not much left over.
