UPDATED OPTIONS,CHANGE YOUR VOTE - who do U want? *NEW POLL*

EDIT : HAWES IS GONE TOO, CHANGE YOUR VOTE IF YOU PICKED HIM, IVE ADDED PG Isaiah Thomas TO REPLACE HIM AND HE GOT THE HAWES VOTES, YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR VOTE AT ANY TIME

=================================================

Most of us targetd Lory and Gortat, they're both no longer options. So............

So IF all goes well, and the big 3 all opt out and then resign for less money and we create some cap space, which player do you feel we should spend on? (Even if we won't have any cap space, we'll have exceptions to use).

If you're picking the cheaper options you could pick 2 players in the poll (just click next to 2 names)(that would fit under the salary cap), comment and break it down.

Realistically we're looking at, best case scenario : 10-12 Mil$ in cap space. I'm not adding Melo as an option for that reason. Let's keep it real.

I didn't choose two options because I'm very optimistic about Ennis so I don't think we need a wing. I chose Hawes over Gasol solely because of age, seeing as we probably will not make any major moves for the next 3-4 years.

you say lets keep it real and then you throw ariza in the poll... ariza is gonna command at least 10 mill at least....

He could (and most probably will) go for less then 10, AND we could have more then 10 in space anyway. Get a grip.

I say we go all in with Pau Gasol on a 2yr deal. Then get SF/PF Marvin Williams and PF/C Ed Davis and call it a day in FA. Resign Oden, Chalmers, Allen and Birdman.

Chalmers, Cole, Napier
Wade, Allen, Jones
James, Williams, Ennis
Bosh, Haslem, Davis
Gasol, Birdman, Oden

1. Gasol
2. Ariza
3. Hawes
4. Stephenson (surprise, surprise)

In that order, though Hawes is climbing by board the more research I do. I would be happy if we announced an agreement with Hawes today while Gasol and Ariza are still available. Bust if we can't land any of those guys. I guess I'd preference a combination of Marvin Williams, Vince Carter, and Emeka Okafor. Lance is interesting as Dan confirmed we offered him a contract -- if the market continues to dry up on him, who knows. Reports yesterday were that he turned down 5/44 from Indiana and can't find a better deal. They have already moved on to CJ Miles, so what now?

I am now open to re-signing Chalmers once we hit the cap, but only on a 1-2 year deal.

Right now, realistically:

Chalmers / Napier / Cole
Wade / Allen / Ennis
James / Carter / Jones
Bosh / Davis / Haslem
Hawes / Birdman / Oden

Before this FA started I thought maybe we could get either Stephenson, Ariza, McRoberts, or Hawes. The value of these guys keeps going up with everyday that passes, but I hope that Riley makes another pitch to Stephenson and can grab McRoberts with whatever is left. That to me would be enough to go into next season happy. I think Ariza stays with Washington and if we were to get him, it'd be by overpaying him.

I know people on this board hate Lance, but this team desperately needs youth. He was the only player outside of West on the Pacers who played consistently hard throughout the playoffs. Miami needs high energy guys like that and we have enough veterans to keep his idiocy in check.

guys we need to be cautious with the cap space thinking

we dont know what we have

the 11 and 12 mio rumour has been said to be wrong multiple times

the newest rumor(ESPN) says Wade wants 4/60 and Bosh 5/80 or even 5/90

if thats true, we resign Udonis were at about 5 Mio!

I honestly don't think Chalmers belongs on the team anymore, it's just brutal that we can't get much for him due to his poor playoff showing.

Ed Davis is seriously underrated he was a beast for a little while in Toronto, and because he never got a fairs shake in Memphis, I'm sure we could get him on the cheap. Nice choice dude.

Collison is gone too. Too bad, liked him for us.

Hawes + Marvin Williams are starting to look the best possible option. Everyone is expensive and we don't seem to have as much cap space as reported.

Anthony Morrow sounds like a good fit for Miami.

Hill, Hawes or Davis as big man.
Hinrich or Brian Roberts as a cheap PG.
Carter, Morrow or Anderson as SF/SG.

Is it realistic to get 3 of them?

If we sign someone else first, we can use the room exception on Haslem. But I agree with the point that, if we want to give UD more than the vet min, we are going to have to use space or that exception on him, which limits our ability to add new guys. Seems fair considering he didn't even have to opt out.

that was exactly my line of thinking

we have to resign UD everyone seems to forget him...

UD is like Wade.. lifetime Heat no matter what!

and hell he did opt out of 4.6 mio next season.. to take a longer deal... we could not stab him in the back and not get him back we just cant^^

Lebron could also easily sign for 15-16 Mil, and I believe he will. Give UD the room exception and we're looking at cap room of around 12 Mil, just like we heard before. That's 2 above MLE players, 1 real stud, or 3 decent rotation players.
