Miami Heat Reach Out To Eric Bledsoe

"The Miami Heat have reached out to Eric Bledsoe, according to @Probballdraft on Twitter.
Although Bledsoe would be a great fit in Miami, signing him is a long shot for Pat Riley and the Heat. They do not have the ability to offer him a maximum contract due to Chris Bosh’s new deal, and the acquisition of Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts.
The Phoenix Suns have the ability to match any offer made to Bledsoe, since he is a restricted free agent. He averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Suns last season, while shooting an impressive 47.7% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point line."

LeBron basically screwed us over in terms of that McBob deal which wouldn't have done if he made his decision early.

Yes and not. According to Ira Winderman of the SunSentinel.com: "While the Heat agreed to salary framework with both McRoberts and Granger, they did not finalize the mechanisms with which they would be signed, since, amid the LeBron James delay, Pat Riley did not know if he would be working with cap space or salary-cap exceptions. Essentially, McRoberts and Granger will get their money as promised from the Heat, it's just a matter of how those salaries will be slotted into the Heat's salary cap."
There's always light at the end of the tunnel.

I like McBob anyway.
I think he'll be a great acquisition.
Maybe we could've got Granger for the min but then again he probably wouldn't have come if he knew Lebron was gone.
It's true that life and our team would have looked very different if Lebron had let us know earlier and I really don't see why he couldn't have let us know weeks (or maybe months ago). From what he says the reason is now that wouldn't have changed over time - still who knows what to believe.
If he respected Miami he should'venot opted out and then asked to go back to cleveland in a trade - Gilbert would've said yes and we'd have had Pïck 1 and our own back.
Selfish but understandable on Lebron's part.

Never underestimate sarvers cheapness. Also a sign and trade with cole going the other way makes sense yeah?

Also, we might sign Mario Chalmers, and making use of his Bird Rights (which we own), get a sign and trade.

I don't want Bledsoe. I don't want ANY runny nosed kids that don't know how to win. I want veterans that can help us get back to the Finals this year. The developmental league is in Cleveland.

That article is incorrect, we can definitely clear max space for a Bledsoe offer. In fact we can clear as much as ~$35M in space, or even $37M if we move Cole (which would make some sense if we are bringing in Bledsoe and like Napier).
Really depends on what Wade is willing to sign for.

Man, sort yourself out.
McBob is a hell of a clever player and he passes as well as Marc Gasol. lose the one track mind and think broader. Intelligent players are the best type to have on your team. They evaluate, assess and adapt to every given situation in real time.
I see McBob as a great upgrade on Battier.

So do I. 100% agreement.
Thus we have McBob and Granger and are looking at Deng.

Really depends on what Wade is willing to sign for.
The question, of course, is what is Wade willing to sign for? If he takes around $12 million, how much can we offer? And, what is Beldsoe's max salary?

Same as Hayward's, starting around $14M in year one

He passes the ball ... he shoots. As I said when we signed him, it only makes sense if Lebron returns. He played 30+ minutes a game last season and chipped in 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds a game. If he's not creating space for Lebron, he's just an overpaid, unproductive, soft, PF.

That's your opinion and you've a right to it.
Some of us think he's more than that and a good pick up.
He's also a vet that you said you want. We can't fill the team out with vet all-stars you know.

Are we back to asking Wade to take less? We need to pay him now, because if we pay him later, we'll be out of the Durantathon. Durant is not going to want to join a Heat team paying $15 million a year to a 35 & 36 year old Wade.

Obviously. I just don't know what you base it on.

I said vets that know how to win. He's a bit player.

You ever consider that maybe Wade doesn't want to get paid? That maybe he'd prefer making $13M/yr and competing in the playoffs than $20M/yr and not? That neither Wade nor Bosh want to play in a holding pattern for 2016 free agency?
