A coworker of mine and I were talking about this today, and we both agreed that getting to and losing the Finals this season would be more rewarding and fulfilling than winning the 2013 Finals was. Perhaps I'm just thinking irrationally in the moment, but the idea of beating out Cleveland to win the East this season just sounds so awesome right now, regardless of what would happen in the Finals. The 2013 championship was, to me, less special than the 2012 championship which was less special than the 2006 championship. Add to that the realization now that we were basically renting LeBron, and winning with him in 2013 when Wade and Bosh were struggling just doesn't feel all that important to me at the moment.

So what say you fellow Heat fans?

The obsession with LeBron leaving us is getting disgusting. I said I wouldn't be upset if he left at all, that's a grown ass man and he's doing what's best for him and his family. Me, my close friends that are practically brothers, and my cousins and brothers are all trying to do what he's doing for Ohio, put on for our city. I always loved LeBron and Chris before they came, loved them even more when they did come, if Miami's not winning the championships then the only place I want to see winning now is Cleveland and it has always been like that for me. To tell you the truth about 2010, if the Big 3 didn't team up in Miami, Cleveland was the only place I would've liked to see them play. Come on, we hate New York and Chicago. I'm happy for what he's trying to do in Ohio, we should be happy for the last 4 years. Of course we would've loved to keep the Big 3 here but that's not how it worked out, we're still HEAT fans til the day we die. I'm excited for what this upcoming season will bring. Put on for Ohio LeBron, we'll see you in the ECF.

Ring a ling a ding dong. Plus, 2013 was pretty damn remarkable. Yes the swings back and forth were dramatic, but game 6 to me is the greatest finals game ever. And we beat the mighty Spurs, who, like the Bulls, had never lost in the Finals.

I don't think it is so far fetched to feel like getting to the finals would be incredibly fulfilling. To me the main reason it would mean so much would be because that would mean Wade had an all time season and cemented himself as one of the greatest of all time. Championships are clearly the end all be all but to see wade and Bosh get to the finals would really be a fantastic moment.

2015 Finals

Funny I was thinking about the exact same thing today. I wouldn't say anything is better than winning the title. But the feeling of satisfaction that would come from winning the east this year would be really really reeeeeally sweet.

The ride would be more fun for 2015 because of the lack expectations, which unlike 2013 where we were the favorites and everyone were trying their hardest to discredit the Heat even before the games were even played. However, even though the ride would be much sweeter and exciting, nothing beats a championship because when its all said and done people don't remember the minor details only the end result. So 2013 for me.

but there's just something special about the thought of the 2014-2015 team beating the Cavs in the playoffs, and making the finals.
