Which leads me to my question.

If/When Lebron opts out, would you even want Miami to sign him again?

The reason I ask; As more of this drama has unfolded it has been clear that he is not leaving Miami on the best terms with the fan base. As the days have passed I have asked myself if I would want him back and I've weighed the pros and cons, and the cons seem to outweigh the pro.

Yes, many on here do hold grudges but he never bashed Miami on his way out. He had his own agenda and that his decision. Many on here held grudges for Zo leaving to New Jersey and said they wouldnt want his return because of so. But Riley accepted him back and now he is our beloved Zo again.

Lebrons window for success just depends on other factors. If healthy I think he can play 6-8 more years after that

But he is about to be the most paid player in this era the older he gets. I feel like we need to concentrate on building on ourselves instead of going back and forth with him. Remember, our very own Wade is going to retire soon and someone else has to carry that torch. Bosh is here for another 5 years and maybe more, but just like the Spurs keep the old core and develop your youngins.

Lebron would only come back if he fails in Cleveland and wants to go back to winning. The reality is he does not care about the Miami Heat, he cares about himself. I'm not gonna lie I have been shocked at Lebrons behavior the past few weeks, you think you know a guy lol.

No man is above an organization, especially one WHO CAME HERE first.

Yes a team is a title contender with him automatically, but it don't mean you'll win.

Edit : good point about the 1 year and 2 year deals. That is whack. I think he signs a 5 year deal with Cavs though with that TV deal, but it seems Lebron might not like that commitment if the Cavs don't do well despite saying it won't be easy.

Not if he's going to be doing the year-to-year game. If he wants to come back, as mad as I am with how he handled it, I would welcome him back, but it has to be at least a three year contract.

In a heartbeat. He's the best player in the world and still will be in a year. Miami will have more talent this time around. I want to win championships. It's just not good business to refuse him because of butthurt. Miami rejected Shaq's overtures in 2010 because he burned his bridges on the way out in 2007 and he definitely wouldn't have been the best player/difference maker on that team.

Sure. If he gets tired of babysitting and wants to come win some titles again, sure. Why not?

The amount of hatred he'd take for leaving Cleveland again would be more than enough penance IMO.

I wouldn't root for him the same though. I'd just see him as a hired gun, a rental to help Bosh and Wade get more titles.

Considering the really deep FA pool in 2016, I'm not sure. But probably yes.

The organization invested into the Big 3 and were going to continue winning. The show wasn't done.

So, no, I don't want him back. Ever. In 2010, we could have just rolled with a still in his Prime Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and have Riley fill out the championship team and I guarantee we win the ring in 2010-2011. Possibly in 2012 as well. Prime Wade would have led us to the promised land, and right now in 2014, there would be no talks of a championship team splitting up mid-run.

This is a business, not a fairy tale.

After his awesome 08-09 season, his play dropped off somewhat the season after. Even with a lessened load, Wade's body broke down next to LeBron and Miami was forced to sit him for almost 30 games due to an assortment of various injuries he suffered.

Miami wouldn't have beaten those Spurs teams with just Wade, Bosh, and an assortment of characters. Wade wouldn't have been enough. The same goes for Bosh. Go take a look at Bosh's numbers during that Spurs series as a third option. Or any other series for that matter. Not even the focal point of the offense, other teams managed to keep him stifled for the most part. Lebron had to be Superman for Miami to have a chance.

As injury-prone as Wade is, the beating that Bionic Bron managed to take from these teams without skipping a beat would have knocked Wade out completely. Let's not fall into the trap of revisionist history. The Spurs knew how to shut Wade's style of play down. LeBron's talent far exceeds that of Dwyane Wade, and as Wade declined and LeBron continued to ascend, that became more and more obvious. LeBron has always said he'd like to go back home someday.

The fact that you dismissed it as folly at the time doesn't change the fact that this wasn't as much of a shocker as you would like it to be. This is the nature of the business. This sort of thing happens. Miami won two NBA championships and went to the finals four times. That's four more trips than more than half the league combined. Consider that. He did his job, his contract was up, and he left. The sooner you come to terms with that, the happier you'll be. This bitterness isn't worth your time.

Middle of what run? Don't tell me 4 straight Finals. That's a function of how crappy the East has been not how good the supporting cast is.

He saw us get killed by the Spurs and then we added Mcroberts and Granger. He wisely saw the odds of beating the Spurs were low and since he was a free agent he took the best job situation for him just like we all do.

Don't worry the Cavs fans said similar when he left. Funnily enough all the ones I know have found an excuse to forgive him now that there team is good again.
