Miami Heat direction...

The last time Pat Riley was going up against the best wing player in the NBA (Jordan) to win a title he created a defensive team with great length and an ability to defend at the rim. Take your pick out of the Knicks front line (Ewing-Oakley-Smith) or Miami (Mourning-Bown-Masburn), either way, the team was a physical defensive team who could guard the rim.
I know we have been signing perimeter bigs to surround LeBron, but now that we have to beat him do you think we go after a center like Deandre Jordan next offseason or the following to protect the rim and shift Bosh to PF full time? A long power team with an inside out game?
Wihin the next two years, Do we revert back to a power game as our strategic direction?

There's a lot of great centers in 2016. Could see us go for one

I mean, there was a stretch in Feb/Mar last season when it seemed like we already were heading that way, when Oden was starting and Birdman was backing him up and they were combining for 25-30 mpg.

It depends on the market, but I am confident that the Heat are planning to build a bigger team. Because we will be highlighting Bosh, finding a center and point guard will be high on our watch list. I think Riles will be targeting Rondo/Bledsoe/Dragic and Asik/Jordan/Chandler.

Iv'e been clamoring For Jordan for a long while, always wanted a long athletic defensive Center next to Bosh. Always thought that's the piece that would make us a defensive juggernaut. And allow everyone else to play man defense, take pressure off and allow us to be a good rebounding team.
Problem is I'm not sure Jordan will want to leave Clippers..they have a nice thing going there.

but but but he will kill our spacing floor strategy...
If am correct Bosh never really played with a regular center (HI BARGNANI) and i def agree with him playing with a true center will improve his game.
I think we were all spoiled after that action

we could have drafted jordan but as usual.... So what did happen to Oden? What is the real reason why didnt we play him more and nothing of consequence in the finals?

I think it's crucial.
As Heat fans we've been spoiled by great Center production between Zo and Shaq. Every offseason since the Shaq flame out I've desperately wanted us to get a competent center.
I'd love Marc Gasol (best all around center available next offseason), but there are a number of good centers on the market next offseason.

Marcgasol is off next season we should GO BIG for him. Best center in the nba for me. Can pass, score, defend can do it all

Only way is if we move a bunch of our contracts, which isnt impossible because teams might want expirings, but it depends on whether Riley wants to rly focus on 2016 or go for the jackpot in 2015 and get Gasol. Tbh, I think Gasol is better than anything that we could get in 2016, other than Durant but thats extremely unlikely anyway.

If it was up to me, I would keep investing on Oden. If he can become a solid defender/shot blocker and score around 10ppg, he would be the perfect Center to pair with Bosh for the next few years.

My issue with deandre is that if he isn't a smooth scorer playing next to Blake and CP3 then it doesn't seem likely to ever happen. Barkley had a great quote where he said that if you locked deandre in the gym all night and told him he couldn't dunk he'd have six points in the morning. I'm on board for a strategy based around Gasol or possibly the Brow in a couple of years though.

I think the Brow is the future face of NBA.

CP3 makes guys like DeAndre Jordan and Tyson Chandler look like offensive forces.

We have expires. Deng , Granger , wade can opt out next year if i recall it. Deng+Granger its around 13,14M

I think by now its clear that you cant take oden to the bank. I would love him to pan out but he will never be more than a player to play 15 20m TOPS. His body just wont let him. Andre is younger than gasol but the only thing he brings better than him its athleticism. Gasol rebounds alot for a guy that plays alongside zach but the better side is he can SCORE/FT'S and PASS. Perfect fit around bosh. Former dpoy etc..dude is a beast. Best center in the league for me right now. Brings everything

Hes gonna be the best player in the league yhea..but his RFA and hornets will match any offer.
Durant will only leave to play the wizards.

I for one wish we somehow hooked a healthy Bogut into our lineup
