I can't get it to play. Tried it through itunes, through their website, downloading. none work. Have tried at 2 different times too.

Can someone who listened to the full interview post a recap of what he said? The interview is an hour long.

Really was an amazing listen. He talked about his personal life and career with Lakers, Knicks, and Heat. Everyone here should listen to it.

I know some are only going to be interested in the about LeBron. Few main things he said regarding that:

He really thought this would be a true generational Big 3 (meaning the team stays together for many more years)
He was saddened as a competitor to get the phone call from LeBron telling him he was going back (he didn't say it in a sensationalist manner, in fact it was very human)
He personally asked LeBron if he could have something differently these past 4 years to keep him and LeBron said no

Riley also said he's now looking for his next 2010 moment where we can do something spectacular again

For those who listened to the interview, does he talk about the decision to trade Odom/Caron for Shaq and whether he regrets it?

He said he went to LA with the idea of taking the head coaching job there but the Lakers wanted him to visit in order to extend feelers for the Shaq trade. Riley had no idea. Hell I had no idea about that until now. It's an amazing interview you really should listen to.

Thanks for responding; yeah, I remember Riley having spoken to the Lakers that summer about potentially taking the job before trading for Shaq.

I think Riley/Kobe would have gotten along extremely well given how similar they are, but as everyone in Miami knows, Shaq and Riley could not co-exist very long because of how different they are.

Does he talk about the falling-out with Shaq?

Odom gave more to the Lakers than Shaq gave the Heat. Shaq stopped caring after 2006.

I wouldn't bank on a 2016 pipedream and I dont know why folks are acting like we cant win now. The East is as wide open as its ever been, we can still gives ourselves a chance to atleast represent the East in the Finals now.

you know, the part of the interview when he says that he didnt booted stan van gundy sounded not believable to me

Stan stepped down because he lost Shaq. End of story. Shaq held a grudge against him over the way the Game 7 in the ECF vs Detroit ended with him believing Stan should have run the offense through him instead of an injured Wade.

Skolnick said Shaq "spent that whole summer complaining" about Stan's coaching in Game 7.

Other reporters like Ira, Bucher, Adande, etc. have all said Shaq pushed out Stan.

The only person who claims otherwise is Shaq himself.

The only thing people seem to agree upon is that Stan did not leave to spend more time with his family.

Even though Shaq played a huge part in the Heat winning the 2006 title - he was great against the Pistons - I still feel that keeping Odom and Butler would have been better long-term.

Shaq gave us about 1 and 1/2 good years. He was a complete turd outside of that. He hurt his legacy by being a selfish, egotistical, vengeful piece of ****. Instead of pigging out and playing at 350 plus pounds, he should have dedicated himself to the team, and his game. Either that or retire.

Having a healthy Wade with a solid couple of PFs and a good SF looks better than the dropoff we had post-Shaq.
