Ouch. Okay. This makes sense. Dawkins is still going to remain on the Skyforce. This waiver could potentially open the door for someone like Glen Rice Jr. to replace him on the main roster. I wonder if this also means that White #7 is waived as well.

"Because of the timing of the two personnel dates, it is possible the Heat waive a non-guaranteed player only to re-sign him to a 10-day contract after the 48-hour waiver period. The Heat took such an approach in 2013, when they cut center Josh Harrellson just before the guarantee deadline and then brought him back on a 10-day contract."

Ham Slamwich? Hell no! We don't really have anyone to replace him with, and we need the depth.

I thought they would waive someone. Riley likes to keep the roster flexibility with the last roster spot.

I would waive Hamilton too. He is rendered even more useless with Whiteside's emergence. Then try out a GR Jr or TJ on 10 days. Why not.

Two jump shooting big men is more than plenty. Hamilton is a scrub and yes he should be next.

Stop all the hating on Hamilton. He may not have the same skill set as Whiteside but he is still a really skilled big man. Plus while he is not as good at blocking shots as Whiteside he is actually a better defender right now, especially of the pick and roll. He is also a a very good shooter. The skill set he has is hard to find and we have spent so much time developing him to give up now especially with Mcroberts out. At least give him this year to see if he can maximize his potential ( a solid back up center with three point range).

We don't even have center depth. The main reason Whiteside got minutes is Hamilton is out. Not sure if any of the negativity ever considers the alternatives.
