We don't need a new thread for every ridiculous rumor.

Not sure why this would qualify as a ridiculous rumor. There is at least some real risk of losing Wade and if we did and wanted to replace him with a similar style of player Ellis would be a pretty logical option. I'd hate to lose Wade, but if he leaves (and if he wants to we can't stop it) Ellis would make some sense. And he's 4 years younger and has played in 80+ games each of the last 3 seasons and in all of the last 4 non-strike-shortened seasons.

If Wade left because the Heat offer was 3/30 or something and we ended up giving Monta a similar deal (or better yet a 1 year 10 mill), I'd be disappointed but it would be a relative bounce back as their games are similar to a degree and he did play 80 games last season and is 3 years younger, though not as efficient and just generally not our franchise guy

Why would the Heat be pursuing Monta when he plays the same position as Wade? No way does Monta sign with the Heat to play the 6th man role.

monta is **** terrible. poor attempt by some "media member" to float a rumor that makes less sense financially than it does basketball wise.

We should absolutely let Wade go and sign monta for 1+1/10 million, make him opt out next year, offer him 3/30 and promise we will take care of him in 50 years. In riley we trust!

I just read the article...
"A source said the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers are among the teams expected to show interest in Ellis"
Nothing about Heat going after him officially, Ellis wants to come over here if Wade is gone
We gotta chill about this

Why bother with Monta when Danny Green is available? He hits the 3 and is a plus defender like everyone wants. He can help space the floor for Dragic and Whiteside.

Well, at least we have an option if Wade leaves. I am not liking the way this is being handled at all and I just want it over. I bet you they are going to draft a SG tonight too, further insulting Wade and pushing him out the door. But may that is honestly what they want.

We were always thinking of drafting an SG/Wing player because we never have a good back up to Wade
Also these reports are one sided. Monta Ellis has interest in us, we dont have interest in him. I doubt Heat are looking at him unless **** hits the fan

We couldn't afford Monta even if Wade left.

I wouldn't worry much about it if I was you. This is a game of chicken, and someone is going to back down.

Past prime Wade
a lot of players, but many don't want to admit it, including Heat fans.
