Craziest thing about this is that I think Danny Ainge would've been fired by now had Riley accepted his godfather offer of all the Nets picks + more (4 1st rd picks, 6 picks in total) for Winslow.

Of course MJ declined this offer too for Frank freaking Kaminsky

Showed real growth the second part of the season, still has highish celling if he can make another leap. He showed improvement in 2 of his biggest weaknesses - 3 point shooting and finishing in the paint.

Handle, defense, rebounding, IQ are all well above average. Next step is playing more aggressive (getting to the line) and developing a mid range game.

He has shown flashes of a midrange J. Has even hit a few off the dribble pull ups that surprise me. At times flashes a really aesthetic game (eg the crossover and euro step today) but mostly does look kinda herky jerky Artest-like.

He could definitely become a handful in getting to the line. Next step is to find a stroke that lets him hit 70%+. He’s shown really solid growth in the second part of this season. Another healthy offseason and he may just make another leap.

He has definitely improved this season. His biggest weakness (3-point shooting) was rectified and now it is part of his overall game. He still has LOADS to work on such as being a consistent finisher around the rim, shooting off the dribble (especially if he incorporates that in his 3-point game), and being more patient when driving to the lane (which will only improve in time once he finally gets a good feel of the game).

Proud of him, lets hope he takes it another level in the Playoffs.

Best when he's aggressive, wish I could see him on a team with less expectations where he could develop more of his skills

He would of been completely different play in Boston and also which 1st rounders where they giving up. They had a lot of first rounders and those guys never panned out. RJ hunter?

I'm guessing the #16, #28 in 2015 (Trash draft class)
#16 and #23 in 2016 draft class (Another trash draft class)

We didn't need 5 additional players and we don't make a lot of trades. Damn, right pat said no.

Those 4 picks turned into RJ Hunter ( not in the league), Terry Rozier (good but does mean we would of drafted him) , Guerschon (who?) and Ante Zizic (Who?)

He attempted 150 shots on 47% in March alone, that's more than November, January and February combined.

Where does Winslow ranks among forwards with similar situations? (20 to 25.9 minutes played, 50 games played, Forwards under the age of 25)
#1 in Defensive Winshare ( Pascal Siakam is number 2)
# 2 In Defensive Rating (Pascal is #1)
#4 in Steals
#2 in 3 point % (Harkless #1)
#1 in AST Per game
#4 in Net Rating (OG #1)
#2 in Assist-turnover ratio (Pascal)

The fluidity Justise shows off the dribble here, if he can ever get on that level in the pros it would be beautifvl

So bizarre how that fluidity hasn’t translated yet. There’s still time.

according to him he was listening to the wrong people. His final audition is next season. Right now he looks like Evan turner with Defense.

“I really liked my shot from Duke. Getting ready for the NBA, I tried to adjust things for the range and it kind of threw me off [as a rookie in 2015-16]. And I had people in my ear, especially in the first year, really trying to change it.” -Winslow

“Just being able to shoot from anywhere on the floor and it still feels effortless and be consistent and repeatable. That’s one of my favorite things about the stroke I have now.” - Winslow

Winslow was pretty good in this postseason but he was kinda like "Lance Stephenson" good with similar type of boldness in his game. Would like to see him next season with a defined consistent role.

He's smart enough to know it atleast: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article209919314.html#navlink=SecList

This summer’s points of emphasis: “I’d definitely say work on the mid-range, coming off pick and rolls, step and shoot, lock and loaded, be ready to attack. I feel like I can be a three-level scorer, getting to the rim, mid-range and three-point shots. Just continue with my finishing. I feel I showed at the end of the year the type of finisher I'm capable of being. The three-point shot is evolving and I’m shooting that with a lot of confidence. I know going into next year I’ll be an even better 3-point shooter.”

Last season on rookie deal, becomes RFA next summer.

Unless he has a monster season, he's not going to have numbers like Josh Richardson.

So do the Heat at least pay him what they paid Richardson? Or if he should get that kind of deal? As a 23-year old, drafted relatively high, he should get offers, especially if he builds on last season.

But if he's more of a role player, rather than emerging as one of the top offensive options (at least one of the top 3 or 4), do teams pay him or get him for a 3 and D option with that tempting high ceiling?

^ this

He's not going to explode or become any of our top scorers, but if he can show that he can drain the 3 at a decent rate on good volume, he'll get more money than Richardson is making. Especially if he can do it while not being completely ignored by defenses.

A functional 3pt shot is worth tens of millions of dollars to him.
