Assuming this is the roster:

Dragic/Chalmers/?
Wade/Winslow/Richardson
Deng/Green/Zoran
Bosh/McRoberts/Haslem
Whiteside/Amare/Birdman

Who do you want for the last roster spot?

It'd be idiotic to give up on Napier this early.

Why are people acting like we have a choice?? Napier is under contract. TJ is on a non-guranteed contract. Maybe they will
Keep both??

I want both on the roster.

I think Tj would make a much better backup for Dragic when he plays but I also think Napier (or another true pg) would be best in games Dragic needs to sit.

Edit- I want chalmers gone but in case he is there as in this scenario, TJ.

Napier. But people need to understand that, TJ isn't a real PG. Those 2 should not be compared. TJ is a 2. The real question is, Chalmers or Napier?? TJ or J-Rich??

TJ is a combo guard as is JRich.

And we're talking about 2nd or 3rd string PG which would better be a combo guard seeing as both Wade and Winslow are also going to handle the ball.

Napier is surplus to requirements.

I'd rather get rid of Rio and keep TJ and Napier. It's time to move on from Rio.

Napier is what we need off the bench as an offense-creating wing. Too bad he has no sort of off-ball game so he can play next to Wade or Dragic. That's where Napier suffers. The offense will get stagnant during games when Wade is down and Dragic needs to sit for rest. Napier can alleviate that.

TJ is a bit redundant as a combo guard. We have Rio, Richardson, and Winslow. If we keep TJ then we should get rid of Rio and keep Shabazz. We keep TJ and lose Shabazz, I won't be upset at all, but we better run some type of triangle offense while Wade and Dragic are down/on the bench. Can't trust any of our combo guards to run pick and rolls and find players on the drive. Maybe Winslow, but he's a rookie.

WInslow will not be handling the ball. That's Dragic and Wade. Winslow is a rookie with shaky handles, no right hand, and a broken jumpshot. He needs to develop before we give him any time of day handling the ball.

I'm glad you understand basic principles of basketball. :D It's good seeing some good posts on here from time to time.

I am in the trade Rio and keep both camp. I do not want to let TJ go.

If I had to choose, TJ.

But if I had it my way, I'd keep both and rid of Chalmers.

edited the poll to add 'trade Chalmers and keep both' since it seems to be a popular opinion

TJ much more versatile than Napier.

Unless Napier get's a consistent 3 pointer, and a floater.I don't see why anyone would think Napier is better than TJ.
