So I thought I do a quick little medical breakdown of what likely happened to LO because I'm seeing all this conflicting information on him getting better or him having a 50-50 shot.
So what likely happened is that Lamar Odom is that he had a myocardial infarction (heart attack) or abnormal heart rhythm after using drugs (most likely cocaine). Because of that, he was not supplying enough blood to the rest of his body, most importantly his brain but also including his liver and kidneys. In these situations, whenever circulation is restored or improved there is a decent chance that the kidneys and liver can recover. However the most significant factor that goes into determining prognosis is how long the patient was down before he was found. This is because the brain is obviously the most important determinant of survival. The longer you are down, then more time your brain had to stroke out. Generally, anything longer than 30 minutes is a very poor prognostic factor. It implies that the patient has severe global anoxic brain injury. Even though the rest of the body is chugging along with the help of machines and medications, not much can be done to restore brain function in these cases. With stories saying that he had been down for a while and that it took 30 minutes to an hour to get him assistance, I am very fearful for his prognosis. I think the odds are significantly greater than the reported 50% that he will not recover or make it through. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm just presenting the facts as they are. Thoughts go out to him and his family.

Lamar Odom took 10 Reload pills over the course of 3 days before he fell into unconsciousness -- according to people at the brothel -- and the FDA says the pills are so dangerous they've advised consumers to throw them away IMMEDIATELY.
The FDA determined Reload contained sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. The label does not reveal the presence of that ingredient, which is normally restricted to prescriptions monitored by a doctor.
The FDA says sildenafil can "lower blood pressure to dangerous levels."
The FDA sent a warning to consumers in 2013, saying, "Consumers should stop using this product immediately and throw it away."
The brothel sold Reload and Lamar got it when he arrived. The Sheriff seized the remaining inventory of Reload from the display case.
We tried to get in touch with the company that makes Reload, but it looks like it went out of business.
