It's Game Time: 15-16 RS Prediction Challenge - Results are in!

After a long summer the NBA-season is finally closing in on us and as the winner of the last prediction challenge of the Heat board, I thought it was time for a new one where we all can pretend to know more about the basketball future than we actually do. These kinds of threads always pop up close to start of the regular season so why not make a game of this where everyone can have a go at this season’s final standings. I promise to bump this thread updated with everyone’s final score to coronate the winner when the RS is over.
*If you’re reading this and belong to another fan-base, you’re welcome to join in as well. Maybe the Heat board is high on its own supply, way low on your team’s current status or you just want to make a name for yourself. Join in!
Rules: 2 points for each correct placement of a team in the standings 1 point for each team that's placed one spot away ?x2 points for the total win deviation of all the predicted team wins. (ex. Prediction; Detroit 40, Hornets 39, Bucks 38 - Final standing; Detroit 34, Hornets 37, Bucks 46 - Result; Detroit 6 + Hornets 2 + Bucks 8, 16/3 = 5,33.) The one with the smallest deviation gets the most points in relation to number of participants x2. (ex. 3 submissions = 1st place 6p and last place 2p. 4 submissions = 1st place 8p and last place 2p.)

Unless Wade was truly just throwing shots up and didn't care at all in the pre-season, and if Dragic shakes off the rust fast, I think we can crack 50 wins. Otherwise, 43 wins, max.

Cavs Bulls Heat Hawks Wiz Raps Bucks NY
OKC GS Spurs Clips Rox Griz Pels Kings
Heat with 47 wins. I'll update the table with wins for other teams and standings for non-playoff teams later. Sometime. In the future. Later. I swear.
Re: It's Game Time: RS Prediction Challenge - Join In!
Two things: How come you're so high on the Bulls? and please enter the next 14 team records as well for a complete submission.
I think Rose will have a good season (just a level above last season, not MVP Rose), Butler should improve slightly, Mirotic is looking like a player, Portis looks like he might make an impact from day one, and McDermott should do well, too. Most importantly, they're finally adapting to the modern NBA with the Hoiberg hiring. Of course Gasol might decline a little (I think Noah will remain the same), but I think the other factors will offset this and yield a few extra wins above last season.
Also, I personally think the Cavs will rest up a lot during the regular season, especially LeBron, so this gives the opportunity for a team like the Bulls to take the lead.
And I'll update the standings with the other teams right now.

Seems like we differ in our exceptions on Rose, Hoiberg and McDermott. While I agree that Rose will have a better season this time around I'd say I'm more in the 'It's hard not to' spectrum after his dismal season last year.
I admit that I have no clue what so ever what to expect from their new coach (more then the narrative of a modern offense). The sticking point for me here is that Thibs for all his flaws is one of the best coaches of all time in terms of squeezing out regular season wins from a somewhat limited roster.
McDermott to me last year was one of the worst NBA players I've seen. Off-course a turnaround is possible in a young career tho but I'd say the'll miss Dunleavy more then some might think due to porous wing and guard dept.
oh, and thanks for playing. Looks like it's you vs. me right now

Last chance bump if there's anyone out there who wants in and missed this. 'Exceling' this at the start of the Heat game.

Unfortunately the Heat board had few participants this season but I will still make a new prediction challenge later on in the off season if anyone want to test their predictive wings. Afraid ESPN might beat you?
1st, congratulations on the championship yoyoboy. I didn't root directly for you guys but strongly against GSW.
About the prediction challenge, here's the results. Added in the big corporation predictions of the bball community for good measure, you know the once that does this for a living. I won with quite a big margin this time around but I'll gladly do a rematch if you're up for it.
Here's the standing prediction results. Quoting Bishop for this one as well. Thanks for playing and better luck next time gentlemen!

Wow I was pretty far off. Just goes to show you how hard it is to make accurate standings predictions before the season. Who would've ever expected Portland to finish above Houston for example.
