I was a a janitor at the vacuum emporium in NYC.
I was in the industry for a few years now but every emporium I worked at put me at the bottom of the totem poll.
In NYC things changed with my superiors got sick and were sidelined.
The business needed something and the guy on the pringles container decided to put me on the sales floor.
In no time I was selling vacuums better than anyone else on my team of salesmen.
Sure I had a high turn over to sales rate but at the end of the day we were winning in sales across the country. MY STORE.
Then word got down to South Beach.
You see South Beach was the #1 selling vacuum emporium up until that point and didn't like how we were getting recognition so their guys did the dirty. They totally boxed me out for the day, taking all my customers by coming to NYC and standing by the door. They had 3 mega salesman and I was alone.
Our sales sunk and the sick guys came back.
I soon got sick myself with a terrible cold and was out for the rest of the fiscal year.
The guys in NYC thought I was a fad and didn't want to pay me as much as some of the other vaccum shops so I left.
I've bounced around ever since.
Now a few years removed I'm at my newest store in charlotte and I hear I'll be going to my first meeting down in South Beach to whoo some international buyers.
I am going to take all their sales and win... probably not though because I'm not that good.
