Rio and Birdman are gone, luxury tax problem is fixed.
Now we need to fix some clotting issues and the Whiteside problem and we're golden for the future...AGAIN

lol why are we concerned about the luxury tax? That's mickeys problem. Not ours. I want to win games.

With that said I don't care about this trade really. Bird is my guy but he's 1 year from retirement. I'm glad we sent him to a city he will be comfortable in. Assuming bosh is out for a long period of time. Potentially life. I hope we trade everyone except for wade, haslem and winslow. start from scratch ready for 16-17

If we were in luxury tax area, we would be hard capped. This was HUGE for us

We traded $9.3M in salary (Rio and Birdman) and received $6.8M (Stokes, Udrih and Roberts)

It's too bad Miami couldn't keep Courtney Lee. Would have been a great fit as a 3/D guy who could guard 2's and 3's.

Oh damn, I love that guy. Instrumental in our championship run and one of the funniest guys in the league. I loved his relationship with Jax.

Bird was great and served hes role. He is a shell of himself right now and the league is changing. Hassan-Amare are better options and no point o fpaying 5 million for him to sit on bench.

Plus we've acquired Brian Roberts, who could be a nice spark off the bench for us. The guy is limited in his game but he can score and with Tyler out for a while, we're in need for another guard, especially if Wade or Dragic miss a game.

Roberts is really trash. We need shooters badly..

It'd be awesome if we were the ones to acquire Courtney Lee.

It's not just about caring about Mickey's pockets. Being under this year takes us out of the repeater tax and allows us to go over next year without being charged the repeater tax, which will hopefully give Riley his blessing to be aggressive and go over the cap next year

we have too many guards, Roberts is a good FT shooter but thats it. hes gone.

We're NOT below the luxury tax/repeater tax. We still need to cut salary by > $3 mil ... and more than that if we add anyone.

I just don't understand that if we gifted 2 2nd round picks with Birdman, why didn't we just send that to Portland, who needed to reach their floor minimum. Instead of taking back Roberts' contract. We could've been under if we just unloaded Birdman. Unless Riley is going to turn around and trade Roberts now. If that's the case, ok. But to take back a 3rd string pg who makes that much, should've just kept a spot open for a call up or buy out.
