Strategic situation:
After the road trip last week, the Heat’s position in the upper part of the table is now precarious. Atlanta and Charlotte are now only half a game behind us. A loss to Denver will move us behind Charlotte, into 5th place. After Miami plays, the Celtics play the Pacers and Thunder on the road (Tue & Wed). They are without Jae Crowder. A couple losses would be helpful. On Monday, the Hornets play a tired Dallas team (in Charlotte of course) and then the Magic on Wednesday before they fly to Miami. Two wins there will push us down no matter what happens tonight. The Hawks' next challenge is in Detroit on Wednesday.
Tonight's game is clearly vital. We are 8 point favorites. There is no excuse.

Let’s talk about the Nuggets.
The Nuggets are on a 4 game winning streak, tied with Golden State for the second longest. The longest winning streak (7 games) belongs to Charlotte who visits us on Thursday. The Cavaliers who will be in Miami on Saturday have a 3 game winning streak. Even with their recent run, the Nuggets are 10 games under 0.500 and we are the opposite, 10 games over. We are a better team and much better still when we are healthy. Over their streak they have beat the Mavericks, Knickerbokers, Suns, and Wizards at home. Prior to that they lost to the Nets and Grizzlies and beat the Lakers. In other words they were 5-2 on a home stand. This confirms the impression I have as a Miami fan is that they are good at home and not so hot on the road. How does that confirm with actual facts?
Well, this year at least they are 16-19 at home and 12-19 away, so a little better, right? But not as much as I thought at least. Our next visitor, Charlotte, for example is 25-9 at home and 12-19 on the road. That’s a difference you can bet on.

My summary:
After an initial phase of being smacked down most of the time (par for the course for an expansion team), first our team of Seikaly, Rice, Coles, Askins, et al put together a 7 game streak and then our team of Majerle, Hardaway, Mourning, & friends put together a 13-game streak in the late 90s early naughts. Once Carmelo was drafted the tables turned, and we lost 8 in a row. Since 2009 we have alternated good and bad results. We're in the mixed result phase now and we've won our game in Denver this year. A win could move us to 3 in a row vs the Nuggets.
We need the win more than they do. Also, they are without Gallinari.
So, yeah, we have a losing record in Denver, 12-17, and we beat them almost 2:1 at home. Maybe it’s the altitude:

It's time to step up. It's that simple no need for a speech its either your hungry or not and if they aren't hungry well they shouldn't be on this team or make any excuses. By playoff time I'll be worried if this continues but I BELIEVE & TRUST these guys. I might be going M.I.A. again till the playoffs start.
