Despite suffering blood clots for the second time in as many years, Chris Bosh has no intentions to retire, and plans to play in 2016-17, The Miami Herald's Ethan Skolnick reports. However, while Bosh remains optimistic, he will still need the go ahead from the Heat to return to the court.

good to hear, but i'm curious what he is going to do to prevent future clots. He seems high risk to get another.

Does he intend to play after the all star break and into the Playoffs though?

That's nice, but seriously does he plan to play after the AllStar break and the playoffs? This half a season thing seems to be too coincidental now.

High character man and a first class organization, but I got a feeling this thing is gonna get real nasty next year if the Heat don't side with whatever bootleg doctor Bosh finds to fully clear him.

I don't know how nasty it will get, but it will be a hard thing for Heat to sign off on him playing if their doctors say he should retire.

I know it has to be a hard decision to make for him, but he could retire & join the coaching staff straight away. He still gets his $ and will stay in shape. If they develop a way to manage it a couple years then he can come back & scratch that itch.

But for now, (IMHO) he needs to look at his family & decide what's more important: the sport or being able to have a quality of life with them.

we should know for sure about how his health is really doing by next year's all star event.i truly wish him well because i have his jersey but as they 3 is a charm or is it a chalm

Remember he also said he'd be back this season so i'm not surprised by this statement. At this point it means nothing until we get an official report by his doctors and the Heat organization on the extent of his blood clots.

if he retires, i assume he doesn't get the remainder of his contract? i wouldn't retire either if that is the case.
